Question about Roper RAS8445KQ Top Load Washer

1 Answer

''Washing Machine'' Hi duby 1990, Thank you for your time and expertise. It's nice to have someone like you to offer your assistance. Although i never found a model number under the lid, or anywhere else. I replaced the timer switch and luckily for me, it solved the problem. The machine now works the way it's supposed to. My mom is happy and the machine should last for several more years. Thanks again. Hollywood 2951

Hi Rob, thank you for allowing me to assist you!

Based on the symptoms you are describing it sounds like your washer is possibly experiencing an issue with the control board or a faulty door switch. It could also mean that the wiring between these two essential parts has gone bad. In cases like this, I strongly recommend connecting with a local appliance tech that has the expertise to distinguish which part is the culprit. I hope this information proves useful.

Disassemble washer f21

Hi John - Could the error code possibly be E21? If so, it typically means that the water in your wash machine is not pumping out fast enough. First, check the drain hose for any restrictions or kinks. If you have check the hose and it appears to be clear and free, then potentially the underlying issue may be the main control board or pump. Generally it is a good idea to have a professional take a look at it to get to the root cause. Cost of parts and technical expertise entailed in these types of replacements can be a bit tricky. Thank you for allowing me to assist you.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Sorry, this FixYa Washer Forum is not in a position to supply service centre numbers, engineers, spares or prices because it is just made up of ordinary guys and gals, probably at home, from all over the world, with experience of addressing problems and giving guidance for free on the web ;-0)
Also members on Fixya are not 'affiliated' to, or representative of, any manufacturer at all, just using their experience gained probably over many years.

You will either have to search in your local telephone directories OR stay on line and search for '(make) washer service' for instance or '(make) washer spares' and hope that you can find someone reasonably local.
Sorry again ;-0(

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks, good luck and you too have a nice, safe day!

Good afternoon, for me problem with the washing-machine of Electrolux EWS 106430 W, can not include it the error of E40 (a door is opened) writes, although actually closed. That to do me? Thank you!

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

There is likely to be a problem with either the lid/door solenoid/lock or the 'lid/door closed' sensor requiring a service engineer's attention I suggest ;-0(

If this has assisted and/or clarified the situation for you please consider a 4 thumbs up on our rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Hi,

Although I am not too familiar with your particular washing machine model, the problem you describe can only be caused by a switch that is activated by closing the lid.
Either the switch has moved out of alignment or the mechanism on the lid which depresses the switch is damaged or worn down. Check for any protrusion on the lid which could be a mechanism for depressing the switch. This way you can determine where the switch is situated & repair/replace it.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Best wishes,
Graeme.

Our Cabrio Washer shows a F1 code during operation? Can yo help us with this problem? John & Kathy

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Error F1 means primary control failure and to resolve this you’ll have to replace the machine control assembly. To remove and replace the control you’ll have to unplug the washer and then remove
three screws from the rear of the console assembly. Pull console towards front of washer to hinge open and/or remove console. Then remove the one screw holding the machine/motor control assembly to the console tray and two plastic legs on the rear of the machine/motor control assembly that fit into the console tray. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee
