The wireless button is for turning the wireless on or off, it sounds like you have the wireless adapter disabled.

Click Start/Control Panel or Start/Settings/Control Panel and look for Network or Network and Sharing.

If windows XP: when you open the Network just right click on the wireless connection and select Enable.

If windows Vista or Windows 7 when you open Network and Sharing look over on the left and select Manage Network Connections. Right click on the wireless connection and select Enable.

I dont know how to enable my wireless?

Before we begin, two things to try:
  1. Check your keyboard, often there is a button (Fn F4 on yours, if I recall correctly) if not, there is usually a switch along the edge of most laptops that turns your wireless on and off.
  2. Check to insure your Wireless device isn't disabled. In Vista and Windows 7 you will need to open Network and Sharing Center and clicking the start button 4f6cbd09-148c-4dd8-b1f2-48f232a2fd33.png, clicking Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, clicking Network and Sharing Center, and then clicking Manage network connections.
From here, you can enable or disable your network connections, or troubleshoot connection issues. If you still can't connect, give your keyboard another look-over, istockphoto_4960733-wireless-technology-icon.jpg is a pretty typical example of what a manufacturer will use to denote the switch or key that controls your wireless settings.

Cannot access wireless network using Sitecom 341N router - brand new - network showing up 100% strength but will not connect HELP please

If you have enabled wireless security on the router, make sure you are typing the correct network key. If you still can't connect, try to disable the wireless security first. If you don't know how to disable it, you may reset the router by presssing the reset button at the back for 30 seconds then unplug the power for another 30 seconds. You might as well disable any firewall on your computer like McAfee, Norton, Zone Alarm and the likes.
