On nearly all LCD monitors the frequency cannot be raised above 60 Hz. This is due to the way LCDs are displayed, which is very different than CRT monitors (on a CRT, you can select a range of refresh rates)

When DC filter caps are bad, the circuits will get AC ripples feeding the inverter output circuits and caused it to run at worng frequency and caused it to over heated, hope fullly it did not take out the MOSFETs.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

I get a message, "Frequency out of range. Nothibng else. The menue and other buttons don't do anything. Nothing else shows. I swapped out the monitor and the new one works.

This problem arise when your computer AGP driver not adjust monitor frequency.you fix it restart your computer and run safe mode settings resolution area(must be choice less area)or select 1024X768 pixel monitor frequency 60Hz press apply set OK.restart your computer.Run again normal mode.May be fix your problem.

Fpd1975w display flashes on and off

what resolution are you setting your screen to? if you are setting it too high or to a resolution/frequency that your monitor doesn't support, it will do this. Try setting it to 800 x 600 w/ 32 bit color and a frequency of 60Hz. If you do this and the monitor still blinks, you may just have a bad DVI cable.

Monitor installtion

Hi Robin,

Hope this instruction well do solve like I met some problem like this. Try to reset the monitors setting manually in OSD (on screen display) mode. Look for frequency settings start at lower and have test it all. Respectively try to configure the video card frequency settings at Operating System GUID (Graphics user interface display) video card setting properties. Start from lower frequency and notice the each changes. When perfectly proportionate select Apply settings.

Best regards,
Rosener Guyano
