Rca d52w17byx1 chassis itc222 question

I've been having the long squeal before startup and then the other day there was a bang and the tv turned off. now on attempted startup, the tv turns off and then trys to turn on twice more. i've read that it's more than likely the flyback, but i'm just curious if you'd have a different opinion?

well, it looks like i am successful in my first television repair so i'm deeply indebted to you slinteriors! i just had one question, when i first fired it up and got a picture, the screen flickered every once in awhile... then became totally stable. is this just the flyback easing into it's new role and dealing with it's newfound high voltage? i'll plug it in and run it all day on sunday just to be sure that it's working right before i put it back into it's final resting location.
    thanks again

Its the flyback that causes the 3 blink then nothing . You need flyback 265409 also will most likely need CP150, and CP114 and CP120 You can get replacements at the following link with free instalation instructions.

Yes its often normal for the screen to flicker briefly after replacing the flyback untill the focus lead bonds inside the new flyback connection, also sometimes the ribbon cables will cause the flicker as well till they are warmed up to normal operating temperatures. Glad that I could assist you.

Picture on TV shuts down but sound still on.

If this RCA TV has a Chassis number of ITC222 then you need to call a tech to swap out the deflection circuit board for a new or rebuilt board. This RCA Chassis is a TV Techs worst nightmare to repair.

Turns off on its own and some times wont turn on at all

Hello robscbr600rr, I believe this may be a HV/LV power supply problem since this is a common issue in this RCA ITC222 chassis, I posted this earlier and I beleive that it can help you, Hello This is a common problem with the ITC222 chassis, I would check CP120, CP140, CP150 to see if they are bad I suspect CP150 is the one that is bad. Its value is 2200uf 16VDC. It is located on the same board as the IHVT and is in between the Heat sink in the middle of the board. I would also like to say that if possible you should get a qualified TV Technician to repair this set for you, due to the nature of this problem and the dangerous voltages present. I hope this helps, Shuttle83 http://www.electron-age-technologies-llc.com
