Question about Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum
HAVE FITTED TWO NEW MOTOR BRUSHES TO OUR DYSON DC07 HOOVER BUT ONE OF THE NEW ONES IS SPARKING AND BURNING LIKE MAD THEY ARE GENUINE PARTS AND CANT THINK WHY ONE IS FINE AND THE OTHER WILL BURN DOWN AGAIN IN 5 MINS
How do I change the carbon brushes in a dc07, I have removed the brush units from the motor

It is possible that the commutator of the unit is dirty or scored or even out-of round. Then, there is the problem of the brush socket being distorted or dirty. Inspect and remedy if possible.
To clean the commutator: Disassemble the unit to the point where you can get the rotating assembly out. Make careful note of all washers and spacers removed. If two metal parts meet, scribe a line on them so that they can be realigned properly.
Using fine sandpaper (100 or higher), hold the commutator in a circle may with your your thumb and forefinger with the abrasive pressing on the copper. Rotate it and then clean off with a soft, slightly dampened cloth and allow to dry.
Reassemble. If you still have a problem, get professional service.
