@ key is not eregistering correctly. @ is swapped with " key on keyboard

Hi,
The standard keyboard language and widely used setting is "ENGLISH (US)"
Set the Keyboard layout to English US so that you have standard keys for symbols etc. like @ sign with SHIFT+2 etc.

The keyboard layout / Language of your PC may have been different (other than English US), so follow these steps to select the International keyboard layout:

- Go to Control Panel - Regional and Language settings
- On the Keyboards and Language tab, click Change keyboards.
- Click Add.
- Expand the language that you want. For example, English (United States).
- Expand Keyboard list, select the United States-International check box, and then click OK.
- In the Default input language list, click Language name - United States-International (where Language name is the language that you selected in step 4), and then click OK two times.
- In the Regional and Language Options dialog box, click OK.

The above steps would change the Keyboard Layout settings to 'English US' and you would be able to type @ sign with SHIFT+2

Hope it helps! Good Luck! Thanks for using Fixya!

Hi i have an asus n61j with spanish keyboard and i want to change the whole to an english one please help

Ok, 1st buy an english keyboard if the layout on the keyboard is different. In Windows 7 click 'start button', 'Control option', 'Clock-Language and Region Option', there you will see 'change display language' and ' Change keyboards or other input methods', select and change options to suite your needs.
XP slightly different, Vista should be the smae procedure.
Thumbs up please if this helps you thanks..

Changing motherboard language

You can go to the manufacturers website and look for a BIOS update flash .. but unfortunately since you nor I know Japanese we cannot get into the BIOS to see if it can just be changed there. Most BIOS have language settings but you gotta know the current one in order to switch to another.

Change my system setup to english language

upon bootup, look at options to write to BIOS. Typically, can be any key from F1 to F12. You have a small window in which to stroke the key in which to access BIOS. Once within BIOS, you may change your language to English. Also, once in BIOS, change your settings to depict read format in this order:

CDROM, HHD

Should you have a floppy, enable that as well and place that prior to the CDROM.

Good luck.
