Hi

1. Protect yourself from shock. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the Canon Inkjet Printer. This is an important step when working inside ANY electronic device.

2. Unhinge the back access panel of the printer. It seems repetitive to say this, but this door will be in the BACK of the printer.

3. Close the back access panel. Make sure that it latches into place and looks the same way that it did before you opened it.

4. Find the front or top access panel. This is the panel you would lift to change ink cartridges. Open this access panel. If the carriage that holds the ink cartridges moves, then you forgot to unplug the printer, go back and do that now. Look for paper that may be jammed in this area of the printer.

5. Remove any paper you find jammed here. When pulling from the front there will be resistance from the paper feeder. Pull slowly or the paper will rip and create a more stressful problem.

6. Close the front access panel. Make sure that it falls or latches back in place. It should look the same way that it did before you opened it.

7. Plug the printer’s power cord into the wall outlet, and attempt to print again. If the printer prints the job, then you have successfully removed the paper jam.

Please do accept this solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

SOURCE: Our RX report for our Canon 830i fax machine lists

This error usually means you have a phone line problem.

You need to try to increase your transmission level, or check the line equalization. It could also be a problem with an echo on the phone line.

Faxes sent to other parties come out on two pages instead of one page

Clean / Change or Adjust (little lever) the seperation pad in the original feeder
Your documents are partially double feeding or steam feeding causing the machine to think the page is longer (81/2 x 14) instead of letter
The seperation is a small flap of rubber or a roller just clean with soap and water. and a damp cloth

Where can I get parts for Muratec F-520 fax. I need Pickup roller and separator pad.

Pick-up roller comes as an assbly and there are 2 pads to replace.
Roller assbly is # DA7A003040
1st pad is #DA7A004050
2nd Pad is #DA7A005050
Contact a local copier dealer who also does Muratec, they should be able to sell you these parts.

When faxing outbound, the unit always takes up a bunch of papers and ruins the transmission

Again a two fold possibilty(no pun intended)!!
There is a lever on these models located on the left side of where your transmitted documents feed in. It has two icons. One icon is for a single document and the other is for multiple documents. The Normal setting is the multiple document setting.
The single document setting is an indication for ( believe it or not) sending hard card or cardboard. If you have set this unit to this setting it will swallow the entire pile at once.
Now then possiblity #2.. and a very common occurrance!
This document feeder has a very small piece of rubber that is called
"The separation pad". If you were to pull open the feeder area and notice the 2 inch wide black roller. Exactly opposite from the black roller on the opened cover you will see the separation pad.
Here's what happens. The sep pad rubber gets old and hard. As it dries out it becomes shiney and looses it's ability to Hold Back the next page. Ergo........ Double feeding occurs.
Folks this part is cheap cheap cheap. Don't live with this problem. Find a parts resource for your unit and get a new sep pad.
I have seen these machines at our local land fill and for $1.10 I repaired them good as new.
Now practice safe Fax !!!

Paper jams at pickup from tray

Hi Make sure the paper tray (cassette) is not missing the small separation pad with the spring. It is part of the paper cassette. the roller may be worn so cleaning it might not help. Lawrence

Paper

most likely the seperation pad has worn out and possibly the roller parts sould be still avalible for this model. besides replaces the worn parts in the machine there is no quick fix besides cleaning the rollers and the seperation pads in the machine with a damp soapy cloth with like dish soap and wiping dry with another cloth it might work better for alittle longer or till you get replacement parts.
