If the remote dont work as well its surely not the switch problem. Chances are the Main Controll IC has failed and needs replacing. Thats the only other thing that can cause the unit not to select. Normally the Ic's dont go by themselves, you'll find a few transistors , diodes capacitors or resistors burnt out as well..

If you have no electronic repair experience DO NOT ATTEMPT repairs your self. The unit requires special tools to repair, If your irn is too hot you will burn the components and if you missolder you will short it out. I highly recommend taking it to a repair shop as extra damages will result in home repair attempt..

SOURCE: Can't get B Speakers to work

I have almost the same problem except that my tuner doesn't work with my remote/patio spkrs either. No sound on all inputs! The remote speaker light does come on but no sound. Unfortunately I have no remote for this unit (I am using the front panel and/or my Harmony700 RCU). Any help would be appreciated.... hopefully resolve both our problems. ;-)

The stereo light on my marantz 2226b receiver does not come on even on a stereo fm station

Hello,

my first question is does the light come on when you turn to Tape, Phono, Aux selection? If no lamp is blown, if it does come on then your tuner need to be serviced. FM tuner work is NOT for a novice. I would be glad to take a look at the unit.

Thanks

I need manuals for hooking up my fisher stereo system model ca 871 amp fm 871 tuner cr-w890 tape deck eq 867 eq can not find manuals

I can't even find a reliable picture of the amp but it's not rocket science.

The Tuner output goes to, say, FM or Aux on the am, anything BUT Phono, which is ONLY for a turntable.

The EQ output goes to the first available Tape In; Input Comes from the same Tape Out. Select that tape function to engage it in line with any source and the downstream electronics (second tape, tone, volume, speakers).

The tape deck output goes to Tape In; Input comes from Tape Out. If there is not a second tape loop on the amp, nest the Tape Deck into the EQ's Tape loop. They always have at least one to replace the one they use. Select THAT tape function to engage it in line with any source and the downstream electronics.

Hello, I have found a Sansui DA-T550 music-system with AM/FM stereo tuner, integrated amplifier, cassette deck and turnable/gramophone (placed separated). It seems like the system is working OK. My...

Hi!

I have the same deck. Did it come with rammophone or are you using your own grammophone?
I have it with original grammophone and I don't need a remote control, I don't even have it. You just turn on your grammophone and it is automatic, just place the needle on record and it should switch and play automatically. That is if you have connected the wires right (two wires for sound, one for automation, all in the same area).

If you have separate grammophone, I am assuming you just need to place two wires into the separate phono channels and it should work. There is just no automatic detection, so you have to swithc to mono manually: There is a button on the right, beside Volume control "tape to CD" or something.

To play the tape, just simply push the play button on the bottom, should work, or you could try tape to cd button off and see if it detects automatically when tape is inserted.

Currently I have it taken apart and there is tape detection system apparent. Its quite automated reciever, which sucks, because all kinds of problems appear and it is difficult to fix.

On my Sansui, the tape player starts winding slowly when pressed play button. And the tape motor seems to be on always, even when the tape is not used, and the motor is really loud. --Need to find a solution to this problem. And I hate it switch to radio/FM every time the record stops. Plus the original grammophone doesn't work correctly, it is supposed to take off the needle when record reaches an end, but it just pushes the neelde to the holder... over the record..... "screeeeech".

Kenwood Stereo

I presume you realize none of these things produces speaker amplification. A receiver would do that and facilitate graceful and simultaneous interconnections. But it's not a necessity for selective interconnective between them, just not all at the same time.

I can't find any details on anything you named except the Tuner.

Typically, the tuner would use an RCA pair to go to a receiver AUX, TUNER or other Line Level input for source selection and amplification. Lacking a receiver, run it to the Tape Deck inputs for recording.

Ditto for the CD changer, but you'll probably have to disconnect the tuner.

AM/FM not working

Sounds like you have a front end problem. Sorry my freind, there is no quick fix for this unit. your going to need some pretty expensive equipment to trouble shoot the RF section of this reciver. It most likly will exceed the cost or close to the cost of the unit to have a pro fix it as well. What you can dom if you really like the unit is to go out and purchace an inexpesive unit or tuner and use a tape out of the new unit to an empty input of your olkd unit, so then you will be able to use the new one to tune in the FM again with your old amp.
