Question about E-Machines eMachines Desktop PC
I wanted to set up a microphone for my emachine (H6420) and folowwing the instruction I found out I have no speech recognation tab under the speech properties.
Can you please let me know what should I do?
Do you want to use speech recognition......
there are softwares in the market for that kind of control. anyway the use of microphone does not require the speech recognition tab
what you should chech is the sound and audio driver and check whether you have the driver fully installed check under the voice tab there.
if this help pls tell otherwise please post further comments on your problem.
happy to help.

Tips for a great answer:
If your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
Windows 7 right click on the speaker icon in the taskbar select either playback or recording devices you should see your microphone listed under the recording tab right click on it select properties at the bottom select use this device enable Hope this helps.
Click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll to sound video and game controllers you might see a yellow question exclamation mark? ! or a red X Right click to reinstall drivers
Click start control panel on the left select Hardware and Sound then select manage audio devices then recording you should see a Microphone right click select enable Windows 7
Click start control panel on the left select hardware and sound then select manage audio devices then recording you should see a Microphone right click select configure speech recognition then
You will see earphones with a speaker among a list set up a microphone headset with Microphone then next and next again you should see your earphones with microphone being configured
Click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it or select audio from the microphone drop down list
Make sure you have the right one selected and in the volume box make sure the microphone box has a tick in it or
select the voice tab
Make sure that you have the right media selected also
