Do  you want to use speech recognition......
there are softwares in the market for that kind of control. anyway the use of microphone does not require the speech  recognition tab
what you should chech is the sound and audio driver and check whether you have the driver  fully installed  check under the voice tab there.
if this help pls tell otherwise please post further comments on your problem.
happy to help.

try to check whether the audio drive are installed properly or not

otherwise check your microphones connection that might be faulty

to check your drivers right click on "my computer "  and go to device manager

there check for the "sound and gam controllers"    if the drive is listed and it says working properly then there is no problem with the  drivers  you will have to check for the mic connection

My headfone ok i can listen other by headfone but my microfone driver not working i wanna update micro fone driver

Hi phool0055 ,

There is nothing as a separate microphone driver that you need to install generally ,
All you need to do is check microphone settings , as to whether they have been changed or the microphone has been muted accidentally.

Please follow the below steps :-

  • In control panel , open sound speech and audio devices
  • The click on the audio , tab where you would find two options , sound playback and sound recording.
  • Sound playback has to do with the sound that you hear , i.e. the headphone sound.
  • Sound microphone has to do with the sound that you record or transmit i.e. microphone.
  • Now you would have two options under sound recording sections, namely volume and advanced.
  • Open the volume and advanced section and check if it has been muted.
  • If it's muted , please unmute it and now you would be able to record your voice or chat using a microphone.
Hope this helps ..:)

Hi all, I need to join skype for a college class and my Sony Vaio RB60 series will not recognize the microphone/headset I bought. It is supposed to be compatible with the XP on my Sony and the plugs...

It sounds to me like your sound card drivers are missing. var fctb_tool=null; function FCTB_Init_c43b474a396a4bcbab93488a2dfd78d2(t) { fctb_tool=t; start(fctb_tool); } var fctb_tool=null; function FCTB_Init_63d47478e44c4b938697691dc95fbef0(t) { fctb_tool=t; start(fctb_tool); }

How to reset sound card to stop constant, strong echo?

Try setting your sound card back to the defaults by going into your control panel (Start--> Control Panel) double click Sounds and Audio Devices (if in classic view), while on the volume tab press the ADVANCED button, then go to the performance tab and press the RESTORE DEFAULTS button. If that does not do it you can try moving the Hardware acceleration slider to the left one notch at a time, and if none of those help I would use the device manager to remove the sound card (if you have the drivers to reinstall when you reboot.

Sound

Did you have sound before?
If yes then follow this for xp:
Start/control panel/Sounds, Speech, & Audio Devices/Sound & Audio Devices. Is page greyed out? If yes then most likely its your sound card or on board sound, or your missing drivers.
If not greyed out go to "Sounds" tab, click on any "Program events" sound under Windows then click little black arrow next to browse on bottom right . Sound? If the arrow is greyed out then its the same; audio hardware device or audio driver.
If there is still no sound click on "Hardware" tab and first Sound, video and game controller then "properties". This will tell you under "Device status" if this device is working properly. Do this for each Sound, video ect.... selection in the list. I have found there are usually 6 listings. If not then you are most likely missing a sound driver.
