Can't see it from computer when usb cable is plugged in.

I installed drivers, but can't see the unit in "my computer" both win 98 and xp. It used to work ok in the past, but not recently. It plays mp3's ok and shows usb connection when usb cable is plugged in. Any fixes out there? Thanks

If a friend has a externe case for the 2.5" harddisk, test it with this.
On the back side you find a screw in the middle, you can deploy the hd and test it.

I upgraded my usb drivers -- I have windows xp pro -- i think they use all the same -- I used Realtek USB 2.0 card reader drivers. ( ) plugged it in (NOT in the front, but the back)_ & it recognized it after going to start, computer as "walkman" -- did a right click explore & all the data/music was still on the hard drive. then it showed on the walkman that it was charging & the battery was dead. i was previously using an AC usb adapter (plug in the wall) & it didn't seem to be charging it correctly -- so the computer works out for me & will only use that from now on -- fully operational.

How to download music to a creative zen player i just do not know where to start. we got a creative zen mp3 player( new) as a gift abou 3 years ago. we have the actual player, what i believe you call the...

U Have plugged in the cable in the right spot ok.....the slot where u plugged in the cable in ur laptop is the USB slot. (Line in is for audio ....don't bother with it.........)

now when u connect ur laptop and ur player like u did, a small icon should appear on ur notification bar(

the notification bar is on the extreme right side of the taskbar where ur system displays the time.)

If u are using Win 98 or older then u will have 2 install the drivers that came with the player in a cd.

if ur running Windows 2000, XP, Vista, NT then a window should pop-up installing the drivers automatically( u don't need drivers for any version of windows after 98.)

Then once this window closes go to my comuter and u should see an extra drive in there.(for eg. if u have say 4 drives like C:\, D;\, E:\ and F:\ and ur CD drive is G:\ then the player drive will be H:\)

all u have 2 do is copy the music files from ur PC and aste it inside this drive. thats it :-))

Now close my computer. left click on the icon in ur notification area.(i.e the icon that appeared when u connected the player) and in the pop-up menu select safely remove device.

Now remove the cable from ur laptop and enjoy.

if u have not understood any points above or need further clarification then please feel free 2 say so.

Good Luck,

Insignia Pilot - USB device not recognized

I fixed it! I guess it's good that I'm not tech ****** otherwise, I'd would've only had the option to return it as Insignia's tech support response sucks *****!

Go to their site, and look up how to switch your player from MTP read mode, to MSC read mode. (They'll say it's just for MACs, but I just did it for my WinXP Notebook and it solved all my problems.)

It's really simple, and should only take 2 minutes.
