Ther audio amp ic is bad & needs to be replaced. mini systems are hard to work on because everything is so compact in the unit. if you can work on electronics, you will find the ic screwed to a big heatsing in the unit. on the ic will be stamped a number. the number is the part number you will need to get. get the exact same number. could be like "stk XXX" or could other letters/numbers. also check for an open fuse. sometimes the fuse goes when the ic goes bad. good luck.

Try HOLDING the 'Standby/On' button, should work. (Worked for me)

I found new IC's at this website:
ordered the parts for about $45.00, replaced them, unit works fine.

Yup the STK428-610 mono ICs are bad. Cost over $120 a piece. A new system is $250, so do the math.
