Question about Zanussi ZCM611X Dual Fuel (Electric and Gas) Kitchen Range

1 Answer

Noisy fan The fan on the Zanussi Oven is very noisy. Heating is not a problem. The spindle mechanism stops abrupty when turning off. I think it is the bearings - do I need a new motor? It is also very difficult to remove the blade mechanism - should I want to remove the motor. Any advice? Many thanks

The fan works in a very hostile environment of heat. It draws some cooler air from the rear of the oven, but essentially it is working in high temperatures, so bearing do wear out and motors seize. Removal is generally from behind the oven from the rear of the stove. The fan is on a shaped spindle and has a locking allen key grub screw, or the fan blade is pinched between two washers.

See the link for videos on how to replace and for spares themselves. Make sure they are model specific.

What would happen if fan is disconnected noisy and not wanted?

Your cooker may have at least two fans, one for heating the oven cavity and one for cooling the electrics etc inside the oven. If the fan is noisy, check to see the fan has not come loose on the motor (maybe left had thread) if the fan is ok, then the fan motor may need replacing!

Noisy fan and no heat

Kitchen aid is made by Whirlpool. There is a very good chance the then thermal fuse on the back of the oven has tripped. Whirlpools are very prone to this fuse tripping after a clean cycle. The noisy fan is just that a noisy fan it will probably need replacing. I have replace a couple of them over the years. When you pull the oven out to replace the thermal fuse replace the fan motor at the same tiome.

My Neff U1721 bottom oven has just stopped working - the fan still works, although is a bit noisy - what could be the problem/

Sound like the element has burnt out but if your fan is also noisy it is probley running slow which may have caused the element to overheat and burn out so it would be a good idea to replace the element and the fan motor

Cooling fan is very noisy

It is probably a worn fan bearing, or loose or broken fan blade.
You could try spraying the bearings with WD40,
which may quiten it down, but normally the only solution is to replace the fan motor complete.

Delonghi ESM465ST Oven Noisy Fan

If it is a fan assisted oven, then you are likely to have 2 fans, an external cooling fan, and a fan inside the oven for ciculating the hot air.
So to answer your query, yes it is a noisy fan you are going to have to establish which fan.
It could be a worn bearing, or the fan blade has come loose.
If it is a worn bearing, thge only cure is a new fan.
Hope this helps with your problem.

Noisy oven

Make certain that the heating element is properly seated WHEN THE OVEN IS COLD! When you put "current" through wires and heating elements, they vibrate. Zip tie the wires together outside the oven cavity.

How to remove a fan/motor from a Zanussi oven

You are probably trying to undo the nut the wrong way.
It is a left hand thread, so to undo it, you go clockwise, as though you were trying to tighten it, and vice versa to tighten it up again. If you can't unscrew the nut, you will have to grip the fan spindle with something whilst you undo the nut.

Zanuisi top oven making noise

Yes , there is a cooling fan located at the top of the oven
It could be the fan blades catching, or a noisy fan bearing.
You would have to access it by removing the top oven cover to check., and yes it could be as a result of having it cleaned.
