We have 25 zebra printers installed on our company. I have the same problem on all printers. For example: I print one label and somewere in the printer layout it is number 100, the second label have the same layout whit only difference that instead of 100 i want to print 50. The exit label is whit 150. This 1 in front remain. After i restart the printer ( only the printer) and i reprint the same job i have 50 on the label. In principle i have the same layout for labels. If the second label have less caracters ( words, numbers ) the printer prints old caracters untill i restart the printer. I try 3 defferent driver, different printer settings. What can i do more? Thank You .
Since it happens with all your printers ,this tells me that it is not a printer problem.
Lets look at the application..
The first label sees it as PAGE 100 and if you print 50 it should count up to 150.
look at the application and edit it to turn off page numbering .

There a number of things that can cause that:
1) wrong printer driver was installed
2) cable to printer is faulty
3) wrong port was selected when the printer driver was installed
Check these and let me know!
Do you know the print speed that you are using? I would slow it down to about 7 ips and adjust the Darkness until you are happy. Some companies want all this speed and the machine cannot do a good job at high speeds (10 ips). If you are not able to over-ride their speed, call them. It will increase your print quality a great deal.
The print speed is the second setting on the menu. Don't forget to save the settings when you are finished (use "Permanent"). Good luck!
The fact that the Data message is displayed, means it is 'seeing' something. You may be losing the command character at the beginning that would cause the machine to ignore the rest of your code. If this is the first time you have attempted to use the serial port, you may have a setting incorrectly set. You need to match your Host exactly or the data may be framed incorrectly. The old standard was to send your data 8 bits, 1 stop-bit and no parity. Try Xon-Xoff with hardware handshaking too. I hope this helps.
The S4M comes with either EPL or ZPL programming language installed. (installed at factory) The S600 is a ZPL only printer. Check that you have correctly specified the S4M as a ZPL printer. Print a config label to check. If it is set as an EPL printer contact your supplier and ask him to download the correct programming language. It should only take a competent engineer about ten minutes (If he knows what he is doing)
