Question about HP NC4010 Notebook
I updated the ram and when i rebooted, windows would not load, i do not have a disc drive and do not have the original discs anyway, i wish to recover the system but when i press f10 on start up all i get is the bios. anyone please help. is there a phone number i can call in the UK?
Try using a different RAM Module, maybe the RAM you installed is incompatible. Put the original RAM and look if the system start as usual.
After a RAM upgrade, it isn't neccessary to reinstall anything, the OS will detect the new RAM and will make it usable. No drivers, no recovery, nothing else is needed.
If the system fails to start after the upgrade, there is a problem with the new RAM module installed or possibly a latency conflict with the module that came with the PC and the new one.
