3GB Sata driver? i dident know there existed so smal drivers
Anyway, if your bios dosent detect the driver u probably need to update the bios drivers.
Go to MSI site:

Instal LIVE UPDATE and let msi check you computer for laterst drivers u need to instal

Good luck!

OK, here is the direct link for bios download.

The latest bios is the one 1.2

Go to a friend or an internet cafe, download the bios and store it on a flopy or burn it on a cd or use an USB-stick

    Update you bios.

After that check setup in you bios, if the settings in your bios is set to detect ATA discs change it to detect sata discs. U will find it under Bios-Advance settings.

    Good luck!

My hard disk is 80GB (IDE) when i try to connect another hard disk 320GB (SATA) the mainboard doesnot detect 320GB SATA hard disk and my pc restart every moment note: MSI 848P NEO-V

Hello samanozy ,
Some older motherboards will not support a too wide HDD whatever the interface.
Another point is to know if you have set the boot priorities in the BIOS . Your machine is maybe attempting to boot from the Sata drive .
Best regards ,
fanaudi .

I am not able to detect sata hard disk in msi mother board

Your model K8MM-V motherboard does not have a SATA controller only IDE disk controllers and therefore it cannot detect a SATA hard drive.
To install a SATA hard drive on this motherboard you need to purchase a PCI SATA disk controller and install it on the PCI expansion slot and then attach the SATA hard disk to this SATA controller.

Msi k8mm-v board not detecting SATA 320 GB HDD

peets, is this drive a slave drive? if so, make sure you have the jumper ******** the hdd set for "slave" , the instructions that came with it and on top of the hdd itself shows you where that is. You should have it set up for this anyways so you can format it to your liking(i.e. if your going to partition it out or use the whole 320GB for your data). after doing this you will need to go to you bios screen when you boot up your computer(setup). Go to standard or advanced bios settings and see if the new hdd is there, your bios should recognize it, if not, make sure you write down all the info for your hdd (size, cylinders, heads, type) and input the info for a correct installation and when you are finished, make sure you save the info (F10) and (Y) computer will restart and it should see the new hdd. Also, I take it you have CD/DVD driveconnected to your primary SATA or IDE port, this should not be a problem, if so send a msg back.

I know what is problem, some of mother is made only SATA HDD data transfer rate 1.5 GB per second. Now all are SATA HDD data read rate 3 up to g GB per second .Follow the instruction label on the hard drive.
If you use your Motherboard 3GB data read hard drive you can customise setting jumper source of data rate 1.5 then MSI Motherboard detect SATA hard drive.
Good Luck.
