Question about Printers & Copiers

I have a cannon pixma ip4000 printer. Turned on today and it seems that no electric is getting through, obviously tried other sockets. No light on etc.

When plugged into the mains power you get no power on the printer ?

if thats the case either the transformer ( if it has one ) has blown, you should be able to buy these seperately or get a generic with the same polarity , voltage and AMP rating.

If the power on printer does come on but you cant get the pc and the printer to talk then reinstall the drivers on the pc... uninstall the printer and reletad program, restart the pc and reinstall the printer.

If you have any queries just ask !

Cannon pixma 1500 printer stopped printing color ink is full

Print a test pattern print first to make sure that the problems is the printer and not the file you are trying to print , then check you color cartridge if it's empty.

My Canon PIXMA iP4000 will not turn on. Printer was working great until i went to turn it on and there was no power.

Dear Mmally1323,

You said "My Canon PIXMA iP4000 will not turn on. Printer was working great until i went to turn it on and there was no power."

First off make sure that your powre cable is securely plugged into your printer and into the wall. If the printer still doesnt turn on then try to plug it into a different wall socket, as the socket could be 'dead'.

Cannon IP4000 PIXMA - pink & green streaks

I've had the same problem with my ip4000, but the solution was to get a new print head. They can be quite costly, so I recommend the following:

1. Contact Cannon support and see if you can get them to send you a replacement. They sent me one free of charge, and didn't need an RMA for the old one, so it was hassle free.
2. You can always try to aggressively clean the head yourself by removing it and following some of the "home brew" procedures others have tried. However, you can damage the head further this way and it's only a last resort. Warm distilled water and a syringe was used by one person. When I tried this, it did not work at all, and I called Canon for the replacement anyway.

Colours are not true, grey is brown

You are getting leakage from one color cartridge to another. Do deep cleaning and run nozzle check. You may have been using non-Cannon inks. They can corrode the ink cartridge seats due to inferrior quality ink. You may need to replace the print head. Check out Cannon web site under this printer support. Print head is in the $50 neighborhood.

Canon pixma ip4000 color not printing correctly with full inks

In both cases be sure using correct ink. Use of generic ink can lead to leakage of catrridge seats do to crossion from inferrior ink quality (per Cannon). Be sure ink in proper locations - see manual. Run the maintenance proceedures: cleaning then print nozzle pattern. If all colors are not proper after two or three cleanings, perform deep cleaning. Print nozzle pattern after each cleaning. This should clear up problem. If not, print head may need replacement.
