Shot down of laptop

It doesn't matter what time of day it is my computer shots down like there is a power shortage. It even shot downs the battery. I've tried it without the power supply it doesn't shot down as long as there is full battery. I've tried the other way around just on power no battery it still shots down. I've checked the adapter it seem good.

It can be two things. One is the adapter for the power cord in your computer has been damaged and may not fully operate or your power supply has a fault it in somewhere. Test the adapter in your laptop with another similar power supply and if it works you know its the current power supply you have, if not its the adapter and it needs to be replaced and sometimes that can mean a whole new motherboard depending on what brand and model laptop you use.

Hope This Helps

The BIOS battery may not need changing provided the Date and Time setting does not change each time you boot up. If the laptop is more than 3 years old then it you can elect to replace the BIOS battery.

Battery appears charged, but computer will only run when plugged in

does your battery have one of those charge indicator panels on bottom?

also, it's possible that the connection from battery to the internals is shot..if that's the case, then you're looking at a major motherboard swap

VAIO VGNTZ150N Laptop battery runs down when not in use

If the laptop is gone into a suspended mode it is still powered on but sleeping. This will continue to use power and will power down the battery over time.

You could enable hibernation which saves the current state of your pc so that when you activate it again it restores to your previous state of work. This will use close to no battery power to perform.
