Turn on the camera and select the MENU button
Click the RIGHT arrow (to the Wrench/Hammer icon)
Click the DOWN arrow - scroll down to AUTO ROTATE.
Try setting that to OFF.

Does this help?

Printing 11x14 photos

First use a photo processing programme (like say Photoshop or PS Elements - or if you have not got that (can be expensive) get the free Faststone Image Viewer and size the image to twice the paper size you want, then use the crop tool to select half the image and save that as a file with a name where you can find it again. Do the same with the other half. You will now have two files, each half of the paper size. As they will have small borders, print and trim the borders, so you can then mount side by side to achieve what you want. I would advise to NOT try and print without borders - that can introduce other problems - just accept having to trim the small borders from normal printing.

Hi, well firstly, my pictures are really blur and un-focused when i take them from a distance away. secondly, my developed photos have black border lines on both sides of the photo or 1 on the left/right...

I have the same issue with the borders being black , i think its because the 24/24 setting ie square shot is selected and the developers print on rectangular paper ,I may be wrong. On the bluring have you changed the focus on the front or have you got it set on B as both may have this effect . hope it helps

Picture size don't go to the sides about 3" black

go under the display settings you probably have it set to native mode which if it was set up for non wide screen televisions will display with black border on the left and the right. You will need to change modes if you want the black to disappear

If you can get into the menu and find "reset" you could return the camera to factory settings.

Photos have a black band at top and bottom. This has never occurred before on my Canon EOS Rebel XT. I use auto mode for all functions and have not changed any menu settings.

If you use the lens in wide and the f lash is not wide as same (if the lens is 18 wide and the f lash is 28 wide ) you will not get good photo so if use 18 mm wide lens then use 18 mm wide f lash and ( i have told about external flash )

Canon MP600, Borderless print issues

There is probably a "gutter" setting that is trying to give you a border of sorts. Check the advanced print settings and look for something like gutter and turn it off.

You are probably in the "3:2" ratio print setting. This is accessed through the "F" button, under image quality. The 3:2 is a ratio of height to width which corresponds to a 4x6 inch print. The other settings are approx. 4x5.33 inches in h to w ratio. Just change the quality setting to the larger megapixel settings and the bars will disappear.

This camera does not have the facility to take "black & white" photos. However it is easy to convert the colour pictures to black & white using software once they are on your PC. Here is a great FREE utility that will do what you need: http://perso.orange.fr/pierre.g/xnview/enxnview.html If you need any help with it let us know. Check the resolution settings on your cable box, you may have to call your cable provider to find out how to get into the settings menu, there is a stretch function in the settings that should make all the lower channels auto fit your screen, also see if there's a p=size button on your remote control, try pushing that when on the channels that have sidebars.
