Vibrating when switched ON

When I switch On the camera, it vibrates for a few seconds and then it becomes absolutely normal. It seems that the 'CCD holding frame' which has up-down/right- left movement is giving problem. I need to know how can I repair it?

The camera vibrates when switched On and it used to take pictures before but now it is not. Besides it is heating up at the back side around LCD. The battery seems to be normal.

I checked the CCD carrier for any damage, but found perfect, so I assembled it back. Still the camera vibrates when switched ON and will take pictures but now it won't release on AF mode. It won't even try to focus. IOs this problem related to the vibration problem or it happened because I must have made some mistake while assembling? Don;t know what's happening!!!

  • Rashid Hakim Nov 25, 2008

Removing and re-fixing the 'CCD carrier' has not made any difference.I have a good skill in handling such repairs, and so I am quite confident about the job perfectly done. As suggested before by someone, I can't find the setting in the menu do de-activate vibration. I am not sure if it is there or have I missed out?

Dear Sir/Madam,

There is considerable shutter lag with point and shoot digitals and you have to be sure to hold still for long enough for the camera to actually take the picture. This will take up to a full second. Watch the little green light (usually) on the back of your camera. Hold the button half-way down and wait until it lights up steady instead of blinking. This means the auto-focus operation is complete. Press the button the rest of the way down and hold it there for about a second to allow time for the shutter to actually take the picture. k this link for more information

Thanks
Good luck

This may be the image sensor cleaning system. It's the anti-dust technology. You can disable it on cofiguration menu. Good luck!

Hi,
You need to get related service manual as shown in below picture to fix your camera. service manual has detailed instruction how to apart and fix camera and perform adjustments.
If you have not enough experience to repair such camera units, I would suggest to take camera to Sony Service for proper repair.

The camera can be configured so that when the camera is switched on, and when the camera is turned off, it will automatically run a brief ultrasonic vibration routine on the sensor unit. Alternatively, the vibration routine can be engaged manually through a menu selection, and the camera can also be set to not vibrate at startup and shutdown.

There is no other solution. This is a common problem with Sony cameras. They were actually quietly fixing some of them for free for awhile. You should complain loudly.

It's a stabilizer problem, not a CCD problem, a well known problem for many Sony cameras. The stabilizer or even the whole lens unit has to be replace. You can find some used lens for T300 easily on eBay, but you can't be sure this problem won't happen again in a day, week, month or a year. I would suggest replacing the lens at the Sony service center, but if it's expensive there - look for another camera.

It starts vibrating like a cell phone on vibrating mode , after few minutes of continues use . You can see the screen vibrating as well ,but when you take a picture , only the lights shows that its...

Many Sony HX5C users says that them have met the problem as yours. but the worker of sony says it's all right because the resolution of the screen is low, if you enlarge the image may it won't vibrating. And it won't influence the image quality when it's on PC. Anything help?

My sony dsc-300 digital camera is contunually vibrating and taking blury photos.what can i do to reslove this problem?

if you alsow get vibrationOn Sony T100 and similar,
its the vibration canceling unit, i had the same problem.
if you have good hads you can fix it.( on your oun risk)
1) disasamble the camera, you will see black plastic box inside, this is he lens unit.
2) on the botom you see 2 scrwes, they are holding the CCD remove them and the ccd unit will come from the lens assembly
3) the next is the stabilizer unit it is the problematic one. it is located on the left side of the lens asebly and is held by 2 screws.
you can test it by puling out the cable connected to it (the conector is just under the lens) and verifign that the problem is solved. ( you can leave it this way it will shoot fine just without the anti shake)
4) to fix it take it out ,remove the plastic cover, you see the lens on a plastic mount it should be glued to the magnet under it. the problem is that the glue fals apart.
remove one of the pins on wich it slides, and take the lens and the magnet out.
5) reglue the magnet and reasemble the camera.
6) power up and test, for me that solved the problem

if you need more help you can mail me at adisarit(et)yahoo(dot)com
this is spam mail so be prepared to wait a few days for reply.

i have a document with pictures explaining how to do that if you want

Vibrating and shaking

the sstepper motor of the focus assembly has slipped out of its track. that motor is a very powerful one which can cause the vibration.  once u change the mode to take the picture the motor should run in both direction to make some calibration. you cannot disable it. in the preview mode the optical assembly returns to it closed position and then the motor is switched off.
since it is a cybershot you need to be very careful in handling the camera if you have any plan to open it. it is recommended to be taken to the nearest service centre. any way the wheels might need replacement
