Although uninstall Driver USB in Device Manager and rescan new hardware. Usb device not still be detected. USB not corrupted.
You can manually configure it on the add hardware wiz you just have to specify the hardware type click next until you reach the list of hardwares installed on the bottom list you shoul see a "add a new hardware device" then specify what kind of hardware is that
