Check if the sound device is selected on the sound and audio devices located in control panel if you found no audio device then i think you may have to install the driver but first check if its properly detected on your system

Have you tried rebooting? In the Control Panel, select Sounds, select Speakers as default, remove headphones plug from jack.

No sound from my laptop?

If you have no sound, there are several reasons. First, the sound may be turned off. Check the sounds icon in the control panel. Check to see if your laptop speakers are the default playback device and make sure they have not been muted. Check the little picture of a speaker in your system tray. Click on it to see if the volume is too low or the little mute square is not checked.
Rarely is the problem defective speakers--rather it's muted volume or the wrong playback mode being chosen. For instance, if you have a set of earphones and you can't hear sound from the speakers, you probably will be able to hear it through the earphones.

I have windows 7 uploaded on my laptop. i am unable to hear sound. Th espeakers are functioning fine and i can hear the sound with external speakers. pl tell me whats missing ..?

Are you 100% sure the internal speakers are functional? Afterall if you cannot get any sound from them it is hard to tell for sure.
It is possible the speakers have come unplugged from the system board or there is a problem with the driver. Open Device Manager form your Control Panel and check there are no yellow exclamation marks on anything.
Finally check that the internal speakers are not muted by clicking the speaker icon in the bottom right of your screen. Also check this by using the keyboard shortcut for volume.
Hope this helps,

Speakers stopped working

First check that it's for sure caused by this water. go to control panel>system>device manager and see if everything is working fine. Look for any question marks missing drivers etc.. Next I would advice you to plug some speaker phones in slot on laptop and see if you can hear anything through them. If you do it means that speakers themselves are the problem. Maybe connector somewhere or little thing like that. If you can't hear anything through speaker phones you are in trouble. If one of the chips (possibly south bridge chip ) got wet and that's why you get this trouble you may get a lot more. Take the battery out and try and blow it with hair dryer or something. I would advice taking it to the service after you have done everything....

I no longer hear the clicking sound when I click

Relax, nothing wrong....
click is simply a user's preference.
Old old keyboards used to click all by themselves. Now the keyboard uses the onboard speaker to do its clicking.
Go to "Sounds" in the [Control Panel] and un-mute the speaker.
I prefer no sound...

The sound on my computer is not loud enough to hear without using head phones. Is there a way to fix this problem? I have the speakers up on 100 % and the sound is so low that me and my husband cannot...

Left click on the little speaker icon in the bottom right corner next to the clock. Check to see if the sound is muted or not. Also go to Control Panel - Sounds and turn up the volume on everything in there until u get sound. Believe me it will get loud.

Cannot hear sounds through headphones

if you are able to hear normally from the speakers and not from the headphones possible reasons could be:
the audio is muted or very low
there is a mute switch on the headphone that is turned on
the headphone is not firmly plugged in or is in the wrong site eg microphone
hope it helps
please inform if it helps..
