Few things to try

  • Perform a deep print head cleaning
  • Perform a print head alingment
  • Change the print quality setting when printing
  • Confirm that the cartridges are properly installed
Also clean your printer with a clot or something soft if theres ink somewhere inside the machine thats getting to the paper.

Ink got into the wheels guiding the paper. Look inside and you'll find them small wheels (some have spikes). Clean it with a swab of lighter fluid (yes i use it for electronics cleaning, dries fast too).

Big black vertical line on the back of the paper. Have cleaned the nozzle several times as directed by online instructions, but still ink line tehre, you say clean the nozzle with a stick, but you dont say...

Any ink on back of paper is a stain and not a print. So open the cover and look carefully and well into the printer, the path of the paper, and you will most likely see ink stain about the area where the stain occurs and wipe thoroughly with tissue a soft cloth.

Good luck 7 God bless!

Big black vertical line on back of the paper.PIXMA CanoniP4200

Your black ink seems to have spilled a bit at the nozzle. The fact is even if you do nothing it should seize staining the back of the paper after a while, so long as the spill is only temporal. But if you want it over with quickly, you may try printing quite good number of pages till you see that the stops. With every print you will most certainly observe that the stain will reduce. Otherwise if you can reach into the printer with a stick or something, you may try to clean it.

Black Line down middle

The line is from ink coming up from the absorber pads on the bottom. It needs a good cleaning and a mylar sheet to keep the ink from coming up onto the rollers. A shop repair.

If the line runs the way that the paper does I.E. vertical on a portrait then it is dirty rollers normally.

1) Under printer options make sure that greyscale is NOT selected. I.E. Color Printing.

2) Make sure page layout is set to 1 (Not 2 per page)

Check margins of page are set to minimum size.

Same problem. Definitely NOT a leaking cartridge or head. (Replaced both with known good set)
