There is a rubber belt that moves the head from left to right if its broken it needs to be replaced or if its just got loose open the sides of the printer and then refit the belt there is a small section given in the back of the carriage where the belt fits.once u will open u will get the section easily.

How to align a new cartridge for HP 710c?

The light is not flashing because you have to align the printer head. You only need to align when the print it produces if not sharp. Please switch of the printer and o again. I hope you did buy original HP cartridges, because house brand from any firm, could cause the printer to go haywire. Also make sure there is nothing between the contacts of the cartridge and the printer. Not a spec of dust.

The BANNER lever needs adjusting.

1. Turn the printer off.

2. Move the BANNER lever (next to the paper tray) up and down a few times.

3. Turn the printer on.

If these solutions did not fix the problem, have the printer serviced.

My HP DeskJet 710c won't print out a pdf-format fil. I can choose the printer when I push the "print"-button but nothing happens.

I am assuming the printer is printing other document types.

You have a fairly old printer and new drivers for this have not been published since 2001. Depending on what version of Windows and Acrobat reader you have on your PC will add to the problem.

Without knowing the details of your PC, I can only suggest you try

Choose File > Print, and check the "Print As Image" option in the Print Advanced dialog box, and then Print.

Print head carriage drive belt failure.

The 710 is a very old printer. A new printer of similar quality can be bought for less than the price of the ink cartridges in the 710.
The belt is a difficult item to replace even for a tech, if you can even find one.
I'd recommend shopping for a new printer, you'll be much happier with a more up to date one anyway.
I'm an HP fan so will recommend sticking with HP.
Good luck and Thanks for stoppin by!
