RCA P52960 Problem (bowed picture)

Hi Dan,

My name is Ben Catchings I have this TV, the RCA P52960 52" projection TV and I have the bowed picture problem. I've pulled the chasis and cleaned things up and but I'm not knowledgeable enough to figure out what the problem is exactly. If I knew what needed to be replaced I feel that I could solve the problem. Is there some advice or direction you could give me in regard to this problem?

I would greatly appreciate any assistance you may be able to share with me. Feel free to get in touch with me in any way you'd like. I'll leave my information below.

Thank you for your time,

Benjamin Catchings

Anyone have any pictures locating the ICs for the P52960? I can only locate one heat sink in this thing, and it is connected to a Uxxx IC not a STKxxx. Also, the fl231 fuse fix sounds good, but I can't find this either in this tv, its a 2003 so it may have a different setup.

    Thanks,
    Devon

Normally this is either bad connections on the convergence ICs or defective ICs. If you can solder, you should be able to fix this. First locate the convergence ICs: large black ICs attached to a heat sink that shouldbe marked STKxxx. Try resoldering the pins on these ICs first. If that fails, replace the ICs.

Keep me posted.

Help with RCA projection TV P46812BL (chasis ptk195AA)

You have probably blown one of the convergence ICs. Effectively the easiest thing to do is replacing the whole convergence board, so that no soldering is involved.

Here you can buy a replacement convergence board, just select your model.

On our rca hdtv model # R52WH77.. the tv is having like a 3d look on it and has a bow in the picture.. we bought the convergance repair kit from tvrepairworld.com and replaced the 2 parts it gives us.. ...

have you reset the convergence parameters after installing the kit to fix the option? Usually you will need to reset the defaults to get the outer edges back in alignment.

Could use some help with a "bowed" picture on my RCA P52960

Is the convcergence ( Alignment) also off which gives the TV a 3D look around items on the screen? If so replace the STK730-130 on the convergence power supply
