2000 caddy Seville ...after starting and engine warm turn on the heater and it blows cold air. Fan works / waiting for hot air and then all the sudden it kicks in. Engine at normal temp

Low coolant, if there is an air pocket in the engine it will make it to the heater core. Once there , the air coming out is cold/cool. Once the coolant fills the heater core, it gets hot. If the coolant is fine hot or cold, then have the HVAC system scanned.

I have a 2000 Grand Jeep Cherokee Laredo (6cyl). It was blowing only cold/luke warm air. I replaced the thermostat. Still blowing the same only now the radiator cap is cold but hoses are hot. ...

It is likely you have air in the system. Park on an incline, take the radiator cap off, start the car, let it warm up until the thermostat opens, fill the radiator until it stops going down. See if that doesn't get you some hot air. If not, try the other steps I have in my post at http://www.fixya.com/cars/r6235876-no_heat_fan_blowing_cold_air . These are generic instructions. If you get stuck or need specific instructions for your car, please get back to me.

2005 jeep garnd cherokee rocky mountain edition is just blowing cold air.I will not heat up untill you drive the vehicle. Any suggestions?

If the temeperature gauge says the engine is warm but the air is not warm until you drive it would most likely it would be the heater core partially clogged. Have it flushed.

2004 toyota celica will not blow hot air for twenty minutes

If the engine temprature does not reach the normal level as it used to, it may be the coolant thermostat.

Iif it does, it could be air diverter gates not working properly, cold air blowing at a a light could point to that. The diverter gates are located under the dash.

It also coul be the valuve that controls the water to the heater core, but unlikely cause of the cold air at a light.

Check to see that the blend door linkage is hooked up. Doubtful it is heater core, as you had heat to one side and not the other. Check coolant control valve linkage, verify it is moving the coolant valve from off to on when you switch temperature from cold to hot. Verify you have coolant flow to the heater core by feeling the heater hoses where they enter the firewall. If all checks out well, then look at hvac controls individually.

Heater slow to work

this sounds normal in very cold conditions! The air is never hot when you first start the car in any car, until the engine warms up, then the heater air will also warm. You could check your anti-freeze level for the first thing. If you don't have enough anti-freeze, it won't run through your heater to give you the proper heat

2005 Pathfinder Heat Flow problem

I am having/had the same problem. My rear heater has not worked the last 2 winters, still trying to figure that one out. But I think I solved the front heat problem myself. The heater was blowing cold air while idling and hot air when the car was moving.

I jacked up the front of the vehicle, took the cap off of the reserve tank for the radiator, turned the car on and ran the heat (AC off) for 15 minutes. This is supposed to release any air bubbles in the coolant system and I did see air bubbles emerge as I was watching (this might be normal occurance, I'm far from a mechanical expert). Anyway, this did not immediately solve the problem, still blowing cold air as it sat there idling after 15 minutes. Dejected, I put the cap back on, lowered the vehicle and resigned myself to taking it to a dealer.

But a funny thing happened the next day, the coolant level was a lower (no leaks on the floor) so I filled up, and sure enough, when I started the car and let it warm up a little, hot air started coming out of the heater!!!

As far as my wife knows, I fixed the problem for the price of a bottle of coolant, so I am a hero...but at first I thought it didn't work. Here we are a month later and still blowing warm air and haven't had to replace any more coolant...the internet is a wonderful thing!

Hope this works for you, and I hope I can figure out my rear heater problem as well.
