try to download the drivers and other software from hp.com or some other site and try to reinstall everything. if you can't find them then search something like: 'hp scanjet 3200c drivers' on google or other....
advises that, on some systems, the scanner hardware may get into an
error state that will keep the scanning software from finding the 3200c
ScanJet. If your scanner still isn't found after installing this driver
and software update, please follow the directions below:
Unplug the power cable from the 3200c ScanJet.
Unplug the parallel cable(s) from the 3200c ScanJet.
Shut down the PC and wait for ten seconds.
Plug in the power cable to the 3200c ScanJet.
Plug in the parallel cable(s) to the 3200c ScanJet.
Power your PC on.
If you still have the problem, uninstall the driver from device manager, and download and run this .exe file version of the driver instead.. and if necessary, repeat the above steps..
First of all you have to uninstall your scanner software completely and to restart your computer with the scanner disconnected.
install the scanner software exactly !!! as hp has recommended.
If there#s no success: I started in disassembling the scanner: disconnect from power solve 2 screws on scanner top remove the glass cover move the scanner slegde backwards to start position assemble the scanner power on etc. then the same procedure as every .... i.e. reinstall your hp scanning software
I would say the most likely cause of the issue is either that the scanner is no longer functioning or that it is experiencing power issues. Make sure that the scanner is plugged in directly to the wall and not into a surge protector or a power strip. The scanner does not share power well and pulls it in large amounts - when it can't get it it throws little power fits and sometimes will not turn on at all. Try another wall outlet and see if you can get it to power on and do a scan without the yellow strip showing up.
