Question about Powershot Tool Company Cobra 8000 Forward Action Professional Staple and Nail Gun

1 Answer

Can't load the stapler

I know, it seems so easy. I'm out of staples in my Powershot cobra manual stapler and I've got the clip pulled out but can't get new staples in. I've turned them every which way and they just don't fit. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to reload it. No, I have not been drinking. Can you help?

I have recently been given a Powershot 8000 stapler and having trouble loading staples ,how does it load?

With the staple exit facing toward you (don't squeeze the handle), find the small black square at the bottom (opposite end) from staple exit. Grasp both sides. Pull away from gun (not down). Chamber will open.

Do not know how to put staples in my powershot pro

Howdy, on that model, you withdraw the plunger and turn the stapler upside down and lay the staples on the track (on the botton of stapler, not in the back) with the points facing up. When you replace the plunger, it holds them in place. I really like the reverse stapling action on that model, easier on my wrist. Hope this helps some:)

Stapler jams repeatably, chrome housing separating.

This is not the company that made it. The site you have is a site where people mostly volunteer their knowledge to try to help others. As for your power shot contact Black and Decker they make it and from what you've described you have a defective stapler.

After filling with staples, could not get gun to "shoot" the staple out. did we lose a spring that pushes staples forward?

It's possible, but they are not usually free to fall out. Check for a staple jam where they come up against the driving tongue. This is a common problem with any stapler. Hope this helps!

What size staples does the B&G Powershot staple gun use? I bought a refill pack 3/8" & 5/16" long. They fit but the shank when pulled out and loaded with staples won't close. Thank you. Julia Carr

Hi Julia,

You have the right size staples. The problem is the length of the refills. Some staplers can't accommodate a full length clip.

Break the staple refill clip in half, then insert it. The shank will be able to close and latch that way.

Best regards
Mike

I cannot find where to put the staples

I'm guessing the black plastic piece at the bottom rear of your photo (lower right side). Must get pinched or pulled to open. The staples normally slide in from the rear on a bar down the length of the stapler.

I have never used my Cobra 8000 but need to use it immediately to post signs in my neighborhood re a dog I found. I opened the box, and there were no instructions. I have the gun and some staples. I can't...

The bottom portion of the stapler (the opposite side of where the staples discharge) should squeeze together and pull out, load staples tip up and reinsert the follower until it clicks.  Put on sign post and squeeze the handle.
Hope this helps

Loading staples

First turn the staple gun upside down, like you were going to staple the ceiling. Then grip the 2 black circles and pull out (slightly up helps). Then place the staples upside down in the groove you just uncovered (in the stapler, not the part you pulled out), push that part back in, and you're done!
