heres the trick to the parking brake bypass procedure:
1. Go into Am/Fm mode
2. Hit "setup" on the remote control
3. Enter 543210 on the remote, listening for the beep for each number entered
4. A new menu will appear. Touch the button that has the hammer/screwdriver on it in the upper left-hand part of the screen
5. Select Brake bypass to "ON" and hit the "X" near the bottom of the screen.
6. Use the unit wisely and above all safely. A ticket is one thing, causing a fatal accident due to negligence is another.

this code is for the phase linear uv8. i dont know if it will work for anything else. this is the exact code. ive tried everything else and none of it worked and i finally came accross this one. u dont even need to hook up the brake wire (pink). heres how it goes:

1. go to the set up menu (where you adjust time, language, etc.)
2. using the remote, hit 5,4,3,2,1,0
3. a secret menu will appear. scroll through the different selections until u see "break bypass"
4. go to that and select off.

you can see what the other things are for. i didnt want to mess around with those things so i just let them be. trust me this code works. if it doesnt, contact me at jost88@aol.com or aim jackasssk8a07 and i will go over it in more depth. please be careful with this. u can get in serious trouble or possibly be killed or kill someone else if u dont use it wisely. peace.

I was wondering if raas's solution would work for a Jensen UV7i? My player looks very similar to the one you are talking but it's not touchscreen. If I try this code and it doesn't work will anything happen to my player?

Thanks

bunny36, yes it will work for our player (uv7i)

I didn't even install the E-break wire (pink wire). But when you do the bypass code, the blue screen isnt going away. All I did was ..

1. Insert a dvd
2. After you insert DVD a blue screen will come up saying it's illegal to watch dvd while driving.
3. Then press stop button twice
4. Then press 1,2,6,4
5. Then press the right joy stick down once.
6. Then push the right joy stick once.
7. After that you'll be able to see the secret menu.
8 After that click system menu and you're all done

good luck!

Here is the code:
I did this with the remote
Press stop twice(which is also the BAND button)
Press 1,2,6,4
Press down 1 time(button below the Play/Enter)
Press Play/Enter 1 time
(You should now see the menu)
Brake override should say No
I was told to change macrovision to No
Hit sys setup twice to save and exit
Hope it works like mine did!

I've read all the different attempts to turn off the brake overide and this is what worked for me with me new vm9512.
1. insert a dvd in park mode and when the dvd starts hit stop use remote stop botton
2. a touch screen sub menu will appear, hit the stop button twice on the touch screen, then use the remote and press 5,4,3,2,1,0. I didn't hear any beebs, but the hiden menu appeared
3. locate the brake bypass and turn on
4. exit the system.
5 restart the dvd and you should be able to play while the vehicle is in drive without the park brake.

caution don't drive and watch movies, this information is to avoid the hassel of trying to use the parking brake. driving and watching movies is dangerous and ilegal.

For those of you who are trying to find the bypass for the uv7i, the direction above work, just make sure you press the stop buttom twice on the actuall tv and not the remote or it will not work.

you have to hook the pink wire on one end of a togle switch and a ground wire to the other end then put in a dvd wait till it says unlawful blah blah blah turn switch on then off for 2sec. then back on again it works its a pain but you will get used to it you have to do that ever time

for a complete fix do what i just said then hit the #'s 66 1264 then push the right joystick up twice and a hidden menu will come up TURN PARKING BRAKE OVERIDE ON shut off car turn back on and you will never see unlawful again

Look, I've read all of these and honestly none of them worked for me personally except using the toggle switch (which I removed) and the one by dhuDz. It worked the very first time I tried it. It's not complicated. Do it slowly and you're gaurenteed to be able to view your movies. All the others are just not going to work. It's just that simple.

for the dual dvd8180, ground the parking brake wire meaning just tie it into where you have the black wire that comes out of the back of the unit going to the black wire on your wiring harness.... then you have to put in a dvd and wait till you hear the sound then when you hear sound press stop twice on the remote then press 26604 and then press ok and that blue screen should go away, it works on the other dual flipout screen the xdvd710 so it should work for this one :-D

with alpine when yiu have it all hooked up the way intended you must push the foot bake then as you letting go do the parking brake so what you must do is replace the two with switches, a momentary and a toggle switch im going to leave it at that if you cant figure it out then you shouldnt be hooking up stereos more less an indash

put a toggle switch on the (yellow/blue) brake wire and ground it, when the blue screen lid up flip the switch ON-OFF-ON and 5 seconds you will get video

Comment by wickedindian, posted on Dec 12, 2007

make sure the switch you are using is a toggle switch that flips one way for ON and stays on, and the other way for OFF and stay off, DO NOT USE push button switch that would only stay on while holding it.
