I found a way.... get a standard relay and the trigger side ground one side and wire the other side up to the acc on your radio .. and on the other side of the relay ground it with the first side if you wish and on the switched side (not the normally closed side) run your wire to the radio parking brake wire... i done this with a kenwood kdc6960

This code is for the phase linear uv8. i dont know if it will work for anything else. this is the exact code. ive tried everything else and none of it worked and i finally came accross this one. u dont even need to hook up the brake wire (pink). heres how it goes:

1. go to the set up menu (where you adjust time, language, etc.)
2. using the remote, hit 5,4,3,2,1,0
3. a secret menu will appear. scroll through the different selections until u see "break bypass"
4. go to that and select off.

you can see what the other things are for. i didnt want to mess around with those things so i just let them be. trust me this code works. if it doesnt, contact me at jost88@aol.com or aim jackasssk8a07 and i will go over it in more depth. please be careful with this. u can get in serious trouble or possibly be killed or kill someone else if u dont use it wisely. peace.

Bunny36, yes it will work for our player (uv7i)

I didn\'t even install the E-break wire (pink wire). But when you do the bypass code, the blue screen isnt going away. All I did was ..

1. Insert a dvd
2. After you insert DVD a blue screen will come up saying it\'s illegal to watch dvd while driving.
3. Then press stop button twice
4. Then press 1,2,6,4
5. Then press the right joy stick down once.
6. Then push the right joy stick once.
7. After that you\'ll be able to see the secret menu.
8 After that click system menu and you\'re all done

good luck!

ATTENTION TO ANYONE WITH A JENSEN VM9311,VM9411, VM9511TS and/or 9021TS YOU CAN BYPASS THE PARKING BRAKE SECURITY FEATURE FOR FREE!!!! WITHOUT PAYING FOR THOSE PULSE BOXES OR ANY ADDITIONAL HARDWARE!!!!! YES THE LITTLE BLACK BOXES WORK....BUT THEY'RE A SCAM CAUSE YOU CAN DO THIS FREE USING THE JENSEN FACTORY OVERRIDE CODE So if that isn't clear enough, let me further explain. The code is a permanent way of disabling the brake override on the jensen vm series multimedia head- units. There are two ways of doing this: Insert the DVD After the disc loads and plays you will see a blue screen telling you "it is unlawful to drive with a movie blah blah blah" 1)Activate the brake sequence and disable the blue screen using the hand brake, the switch method or anything else to give the unit its three pulses to disable that freakin blue screen. (What I did was I installed my radio entirely, then took the pink wire and touched for two seconds, removed for two seconds and then touched and held the negative pole of a mower battery laying on my passenger seat until the screen was no longer blue.) 2) Next, on the main remote press stop twice, then 1, 2, 6, 4. You will now see a hidden menu that says: Region Code Brake Override (I know you're drooling by now) Macrovision (Watch all the burned and pirated movies you want if this option is off) Loader Version Model Version 3) Using the right joystick on the unit, navigate to the options of your choice, click on them to toggle on, off or which region code you want. This is what you want: Region Code: 1 Brake Override ON Macrovision: OFF When your done, click SYS SETUP on the main remote TWICE to save the settings and bingo, your done!!! Hooray!!! You can now kill your whole family in the car while watching that adult movie while your driving..... The other way of doing this is by not engaging the parking brake sequence, thus you're inputting the code blindly. 1) Insert the DVD and you'll get the blue screen. (If you have more than one tv, the unit itself will have the blue screen but the additional tv's you have plugged in will NOT, they will show the dvd menu. Thus you will be able to see the hidden menu on the additional screens after inputting the code, but not on the main unit because of its blue screen.) 2) On the main remote, push stop twice and then 1, 2, 6, 4 3) Push the joystick on the unit SOUTH twice and then click it once. 4) Press SYS SETUP on the main remote twice to save your settings. It may take a few tries but you'll get it. This method can be done if you don't want to bother temporarily activating the brake sequence, but if you only have the unit and no additional tv's, its #$%^&* damn hardbecause you can't see the settings your changing. I tried to make this as clear as possible. If you have questions, private message me or post here. Best of Luck! By the way, this is for informational purposes only and I will not be responsible for anything bad/stupid/ignorant you do with your Jensen unit.

You have to hook the pink wire on one end of a togle switch and a ground wire to the other end then put in a dvd wait till it says unlawful blah blah blah turn switch on then off for 2sec. then back on again it works its a pain but you will get used to it you have to do that ever time

for a complete fix do what i just said then hit the #\'s 66 1264 then push the right joystick up twice and a hidden menu will come up TURN PARKING BRAKE OVERIDE ON shut off car turn back on and you will never see unlawful again

Jensen: Vm9512, *Read Bold Below for Help.

heres the trick to the parking brake bypass procedure:
1. Go into Am/Fm mode
2. Hit "setup" on the remote control
3. Enter 543210 on the remote, listening for the beep for each number entered
4. A new menu will appear. Touch the button that has the hammer/screwdriver on it in the upper left-hand part of the screen
5. Select Brake bypass to "ON" and hit the "X" near the bottom of the screen.
6. Use the unit wisely and above all safely. A ticket is one thing, causing a fatal accident due to negligence is another.

May I Add... That I Tried this And The other Ways on here to No Avail... UNTIL!!!
I Went into the Am/Fm ("Radio") Mode, Hit Setup...and when that Setup Menu Came up i Clicked Over to The Language Tab... and tried this Code once Again... and the Secret Menu Finally Appeared!! :)
*- So Just Follow these Steps Above but make sure you are in the Language part of the Setup Menu. and u should be good to go!

Let me know if i helped you out with this! Sean_2_k00l@yahoo.com

Again! it is not safe Nor is it Legal to Drive & watch Movies... Though 2 Avoid the Parking Brake ****, Use this Code Safe and wisely....

Take the wire that you are supposed to connect to the parking break and ground it to one of your mounting screws, it may be illegal in the state you live in but i guess it's fine if you don't get caught haha

With alpine when yiu have it all hooked up the way intended you must push the foot bake then as you letting go do the parking brake so what you must do is replace the two with switches, a momentary and a toggle switch im going to leave it at that if you cant figure it out then you shouldnt be hooking up stereos more less an indash

Yeah, get a toggle switch from hardware department just abour anywhere (mount it switch center console somewhere). The GREEN wire from AVH system connects to one side of switch and the other side of switch goes to good chasis ground (metal surface). when message don't view while driving comes up toggle switch. ** DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK**** If pulled over by 5-O or you have accident you WILL get major fine and or insurance will drop you like bad habit!!!!!

I Dont care who says the whole pressing stop stop 1264 (ect) works, it does not. The only true way to bypass that ebarake engage is by rigging a toggle such as the others suggested. You can also ground the cable out but the only problem is sometimes the unit gets smart and does not register a change when the car is turned from ACC to ON and it knows your trying to cheat. Easiest/cheapest/quickest and most reliable way is to just rig a toggle switch. Dont waste ur time trying to pres the 1246 - ull be there all day and get no where

To bypass the nagg blue screen your going to need to go radioshack and by
1. toggle switch
2. wire
3. tape
okay now put the toggle switch some where in the car. Me, personally i placed mines underneath the stirring wheel. I wired the one end of the switch to the tv/unit, in mines its pink brake wire i think, then i placed the other end to the ground, i popped in a dvd and waited for the screen to come up and clicked the button til it was gone approx. 15 times i just installed mines good luck

"Yeah, get a toggle switch from hardware department just abour anywhere (mount it switch center console somewhere). "

If you do get in an accident and you are still alive, maybe you should turn your switch off so they don't know you were dumb and was watch tv while driving.

I just got a Jensen UV8020 and installed it myself. I´ve been trying with all the codes suggested above and nothing worked out for me. Finally I connected the pink (brake) and black (ground) wires toghether to the ground and worked out perfectly!

Posted on Aug 02, 2008

AS EASY AS CONNECTING THE PINK WIRE WITH THE BLACK GROUND WIRE AND START WATCHINH T.V. DID THAT LAST NIGHT AND CONNECTED CABLE ON IT TOO.

Posted on Jun 12, 2008

Here is the code:
I did this with the remote
Press stop twice(which is also the BAND button)
Press 1,2,6,4
Press down 1 time(button below the Play/Enter)
Press Play/Enter 1 time
(You should now see the menu)
Brake override should say No
I was told to change macrovision to No
Hit sys setup twice to save and exit
Hope it works like mine did!

Posted on May 12, 2008

For those of you who are trying to find the bypass for the uv7i, the direction above work, just make sure you press the stop buttom twice on the actuall tv and not the remote or it will not work.

Look, I've read all of these and honestly none of them worked for me personally except using the toggle switch (which I removed) and the one by dhuDz. It worked the very first time I tried it. It's not complicated. Do it slowly and you're gaurenteed to be able to view your movies. All the others are just not going to work. It's just that simple.

Actually I had a portable DVD player in my house i hooked it up to the head unit and i was able to see the hidden menu on the portable DVD palyer screen thus making it very easy follow the steps. Thank you I think I just saved like $80 or more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Some of them just grounding the parkinfg brake wire is not enough u neough u have to make a toggle switch and flip the toggle switch like the e brake

Posted on Mar 22, 2008

For the dual dvd8180, ground the parking brake wire meaning just tie it into where you have the black wire that comes out of the back of the unit going to the black wire on your wiring harness.... then you have to put in a dvd and wait till you hear the sound then when you hear sound press stop twice on the remote then press 26604 and then press ok and that blue screen should go away, it works on the other dual flipout screen the xdvd710 so it should work for this one :-D

Coolman12 you rock i tried for 2 months to get my uv7i to work your code works yeah !!!!! thanks

Posted on Dec 19, 2007

The best way to fix this is to find the groundcable that they attatched to the ebrake and cut it. after doing this attach a toggle switch.. this toggle will act as the e brake...

Posted on Nov 22, 2007

None of this works for the uv7i...anyone got a code? except rerouting the pink wire.

Posted on Sep 17, 2007

Posted on Jun 23, 2007

I dunno is this will damage anything but connect the pink wire to the green/white wire on vm9412. Instant fix.

Posted on Jun 15, 2007

Simply connect the ground wire to that pink park brake wire

Posted on Jan 05, 2007

Try unning an rca out of the unit av out into the rear camera input. then ground the brake and put a toggle on the reverse feed. pic will be available all the time. reminder on bottom of screen will always be there

Posted on Jan 02, 2007

I know this is late as all hell but i'm sure you can run your video to your rear camera input and use your rear cam switch to activate the video while your in motion. the downside is you'll have that stupid rear camera warning on your screen while your vid is playing. hey dont be mad at me be mad at those overly safety conscious suits at pioneer. peace.

You can purchase a universal toggle switch (schucks, autozone) with wires attached to it. connect one end to your parking wire and the other end to your parking brake connector. flip the switch, should work.

Put a toggle switch on the (yellow/blue) brake wire and ground it, when the blue screen lid up flip the switch ON-OFF-ON and 5 seconds you will get video

Posted on Dec 12, 2007

  • wickedindian Dec 12, 2007

make sure the switch you are using is a toggle switch that flips one way for ON and stays on, and the other way for OFF and stay off, DO NOT USE push button switch that would only stay on while holding it.

I've read all the different attempts to turn off the brake overide and this is what worked for me with me new vm9512.
1. insert a dvd in park mode and when the dvd starts hit stop use remote stop botton
2. a touch screen sub menu will appear, hit the stop button twice on the touch screen, then use the remote and press 5,4,3,2,1,0. I didn't hear any beebs, but the hiden menu appeared
3. locate the brake bypass and turn on
4. exit the system.
5 restart the dvd and you should be able to play while the vehicle is in drive without the park brake.

caution don't drive and watch movies, this information is to avoid the hassel of trying to use the parking brake. driving and watching movies is dangerous and ilegal.

SOURCE: how do i bypass the parking brake switch in order for my video to play

To bypass the parking brake you should connect the parking brake wire from the unit to ground. It is better to do it via a switch because is illegal to watch video while you're driving. :)
