heres the trick to the parking brake bypass procedure:
1. Go into Am/Fm mode
2. Hit "setup" on the remote control
3. Enter 543210 on the remote, listening for the beep for each number entered
4. A new menu will appear. Touch the button that has the hammer/screwdriver on it in the upper left-hand part of the screen
5. Select Brake bypass to "ON" and hit the "X" near the bottom of the screen.
6. Use the unit wisely and above all safely. A ticket is one thing, causing a fatal accident due to negligence is another.

this code is for the phase linear uv8. i dont know if it will work for anything else. this is the exact code. ive tried everything else and none of it worked and i finally came accross this one. u dont even need to hook up the brake wire (pink). heres how it goes:

1. go to the set up menu (where you adjust time, language, etc.)
2. using the remote, hit 5,4,3,2,1,0
3. a secret menu will appear. scroll through the different selections until u see "break bypass"
4. go to that and select off.

you can see what the other things are for. i didnt want to mess around with those things so i just let them be. trust me this code works. if it doesnt, contact me at jost88@aol.com or aim jackasssk8a07 and i will go over it in more depth. please be careful with this. u can get in serious trouble or possibly be killed or kill someone else if u dont use it wisely. peace.

dhudz indicated that his solution for
VM9411 Car Video... Problem
is valid for all Jensen Car Video...
ATTENTION TO ANYONE WITH A JENSEN VM9311,VM9411, VM9511TS and/or 9021TS

YOU CAN BYPASS THE PARKING BRAKE SECURITY FEATURE FOR FREE!!!! WITHOUT PAYING FOR THOSE PULSE BOXES OR ANY ADDITIONAL HARDWARE!!!!!

YES THE LITTLE BLACK BOXES WORK....BUT THEY'RE A SCAM CAUSE YOU CAN DO THIS FREE USING THE JENSEN FACTORY OVERRIDE CODE

So if that isn't clear enough, let me further explain. The code is a permanent way of disabling the brake override on the jensen vm series multimedia head- units.

There are two ways of doing this:

Insert the DVD

After the disc loads and plays you will see a blue screen telling you "it is unlawful to drive with a movie blah blah blah"

1)Activate the brake sequence and disable the blue screen using the hand brake, the switch method or anything else to give the unit its three pulses to disable that freakin blue screen.

(What I did was I installed my radio entirely, then took the pink wire and touched for two seconds, removed for two seconds and then touched and held the negative pole of a mower battery laying on my passenger seat until the screen was no longer blue.)

2) Next, on the main remote press stop twice, then 1, 2, 6, 4.

You will now see a hidden menu that says:

Region Code
Brake Override (I know you're drooling by now)
Macrovision (Watch all the burned and pirated movies you want if this option is off)
Loader Version
Model Version

3) Using the right joystick on the unit, navigate to the options of your choice, click on them to toggle on, off or which region code you want.

This is what you want:

Region Code: 1
Brake Override ON
Macrovision: OFF

When your done, click SYS SETUP on the main remote TWICE to save the settings and bingo, your done!!! Hooray!!! You can now kill your whole family in the car while watching that adult movie while your driving.....

The other way of doing this is by not engaging the parking brake sequence, thus you're inputting the code blindly.

1) Insert the DVD and you'll get the blue screen.

(If you have more than one tv, the unit itself will have the blue screen but the additional tv's you have plugged in will NOT, they will show the dvd menu. Thus you will be able to see the hidden menu on the additional screens after inputting the code, but not on the main unit because of its blue screen.)

2) On the main remote, push stop twice and then 1, 2, 6, 4

3) Push the joystick on the unit SOUTH twice and then click it once.

4) Press SYS SETUP on the main remote twice to save your settings.

It may take a few tries but you'll get it. This method can be done if you don't want to bother temporarily activating the brake sequence, but if you only have the unit and no additional tv's, its #$%^&* damn hardbecause you can't see the settings your changing.

I tried to make this as clear as possible. If you have questions, private message me or post here.

Best of Luck!

By the way, this is for informational purposes only and I will not be responsible for anything bad/stupid/ignorant you do with your Jensen unit.

I've read all the different attempts to turn off the brake overide and this is what worked for me with me new vm9512.
1. insert a dvd in park mode and when the dvd starts hit stop use remote stop botton
2. a touch screen sub menu will appear, hit the stop button twice on the touch screen, then use the remote and press 5,4,3,2,1,0. I didn't hear any beebs, but the hiden menu appeared
3. locate the brake bypass and turn on
4. exit the system.
5 restart the dvd and you should be able to play while the vehicle is in drive without the park brake.

caution don't drive and watch movies, this information is to avoid the hassel of trying to use the parking brake. driving and watching movies is dangerous and ilegal.

bunny36, yes it will work for our player (uv7i)

I didn't even install the E-break wire (pink wire). But when you do the bypass code, the blue screen isnt going away. All I did was ..

1. Insert a dvd
2. After you insert DVD a blue screen will come up saying it's illegal to watch dvd while driving.
3. Then press stop button twice
4. Then press 1,2,6,4
5. Then press the right joy stick down once.
6. Then push the right joy stick once.
7. After that you'll be able to see the secret menu.
8 After that click system menu and you're all done

good luck!

for the dual dvd8180, ground the parking brake wire meaning just tie it into where you have the black wire that comes out of the back of the unit going to the black wire on your wiring harness.... then you have to put in a dvd and wait till you hear the sound then when you hear sound press stop twice on the remote then press 26604 and then press ok and that blue screen should go away, it works on the other dual flipout screen the xdvd710 so it should work for this one :-D

you have to hook the pink wire on one end of a togle switch and a ground wire to the other end then put in a dvd wait till it says unlawful blah blah blah turn switch on then off for 2sec. then back on again it works its a pain but you will get used to it you have to do that ever time

for a complete fix do what i just said then hit the #'s 66 1264 then push the right joystick up twice and a hidden menu will come up TURN PARKING BRAKE OVERIDE ON shut off car turn back on and you will never see unlawful again

I Dont care who says the whole pressing stop stop 1264 (ect) works, it does not. The only true way to bypass that ebarake engage is by rigging a toggle such as the others suggested. You can also ground the cable out but the only problem is sometimes the unit gets smart and does not register a change when the car is turned from ACC to ON and it knows your trying to cheat. Easiest/cheapest/quickest and most reliable way is to just rig a toggle switch. Dont waste ur time trying to pres the 1246 - ull be there all day and get no where

Comments:

Dec 12, 2007

- make sure the switch you are using is a toggle switch that flips one way for ON and stays on, and the other way for OFF and stay off, DO NOT USE push button switch that would only stay on while holding it.

To bypass the nagg blue screen your going to need to go radioshack and by
1. toggle switch
2. wire
3. tape
okay now put the toggle switch some where in the car. Me, personally i placed mines underneath the stirring wheel. I wired the one end of the switch to the tv/unit, in mines its pink brake wire i think, then i placed the other end to the ground, i popped in a dvd and waited for the screen to come up and clicked the button til it was gone approx. 15 times i just installed mines good luck

Look, I've read all of these and honestly none of them worked for me personally except using the toggle switch (which I removed) and the one by dhuDz. It worked the very first time I tried it. It's not complicated. Do it slowly and you're gaurenteed to be able to view your movies. All the others are just not going to work. It's just that simple.

You can purchase a universal toggle switch (schucks, autozone) with wires attached to it. connect one end to your parking wire and the other end to your parking brake connector. flip the switch, should work.

With my Jensen VM9312 the code doesn't work, but finding a GOOD ground for the pink wire did. Body ground did not work, but the incoming ground to the unit worked perfectly. No lawyer zone.

if you get a relay and a switch you can bypass the emergency brake and play dvds while your driving

- its just the fact that hooking up the relay is a task but once you get it in it's worth while trust

I have a 310. Buy a double rocker switch. I don't mean a double throw. connect one to a positive source -- then to the yellow and blue wire. on one switch. on the second connect ground and the yellow and black wire.

Sequence Required 1) Positive On 2)Negative On then off then back on. 3)Positive Off... Voila. you have video. All this for only about $5.

Enjoy.

If you hook a switch between the green parking brake wire and a ground you can flip the switch and it will play dvds while the car is in motion..
