I have a GE stove. We had a power failure this week. The oven will not work until I re-set it. The light is flashing "PF" [power failure]. I've tried to "clear" it but I have not been able to re-set it no matter what buttons I push.

my problem seems similar - it flashes "F116" where it usually shows the time. I tried to press other buttons, but nothing seems to help

Unplug the stove for 10 minutes, then plug it back in.
This should resolve your problem...

I can't get my clock set on my GE stove model # JB645DT1BB It said to hold for 3 seconds to change the time but it doesn't change. HELP Please

To Set the Clock
The clock must be set to the correct time
of day for the automatic oven timing functions
to work properly,The time of day cannot be
changed during a delayed cooking or a delayed
self-cleaning cycle,
1. Touch the Clock pad twice.
For models without a Clock pad:
Hold the + and - pads for 3 seconds.

2. Touch the + or - pads.
If the + or - pads are not touched within one
minute after Step 1, the display reverts to the
original setting. If this happens, repeat Step 1
and reenter the time of day.

3. Touch the Start/On pad until the time of
day shows in the display. This enters the
time and starts the clock.
To check the time of day when the display is
showing other information, simply touch the
Clock pad. The time of day shows until another
pad is touched.

WE have a GE Stove top Range. The burners aren't

If you have power to the stove as in the oven light works and the clock works but the burners and oven will not work you only have 120 volts coming to the stove. The stove requires 240 volts for the burners and oven to work. Check the service panel for a blown fuse. There will be 2 fuses in the fuse holder. One of them is blown. If that is not the case then one of the wires has come loose either in the service panel or in the outlet behind the stove. Use a multimeter to check the input voltage at the outlet.

I have an electric stove that has 1 black, 1 red

Since 1996, the NEC has required that all stoves and dryers be wired with a 4 wire configuration; 2 hot wires (red/black - supplies 240 volts), the bare green ground wire and a white neutral wire. Before you do anything, review this article which speaks to the 3-wire/4-wire arrangement. Good luck!

The control panel is flashing F1 oon my stove. A technician told me that parts were no longer available. I think the stove is about 15 years old and I don't have the model number with me at this time....

The code is: 'failed thermistor control' and the bad part is the 'electronic range control'. Look inside the oven door opening edge for a model number--usually an aluminum plate glued to the surface. Once you find the model number, get on the internet and search (GE mod#, part). If doing your own repair, be sure to remove power by pulling the plug or switching off the appropriate breakers.

Oven wont turn on and f7 keeps beeping, but stove top burners work on ge spectra xl44 on model number jgbp86bea3bb

Hi there,
Well, F7 error code occures due to
A = Function pad button stuck or
B = Bad clock Unstick button or
Replace Electronic Range Control (ERC)

Replace the ERC there are ten screws 3 on each side and 4 on the control leave the hex screws alone all you need is a phillip screwdriver.
REMEMBER TO SHUT OFF THE POWER FIRST lift and fold out the control panel remove the ribbon cable and remove the four screws that hold the control board . replace control panel in reverse order.

Good Luck!!
Have a nice Day!!
Thanks

Replacing oven burner element, the lower element, for a GE stove

(I think it is 50 watts or volts??)
Most electric ranges are supplied with 220 volts - this is, especially at 60 Hz, deadly. You were lucky this time.
If the wires are not welded onto the element contacts, they might be so-called 'quick-disconnects' that pull straight off of blades that are part of the elelment.
You probably haven't hurt the range with the momentary short circuit since the chassis of the range is connected to neutral or ground so you just gave your breaker a workout. BTW, I have had to replace late breakers after they tripped. They wouldn't stay reset any more even after the problem was removed from the circuit. Don't be surprised if yours doesn't stay reset; it may not be a fault causing it.
