    Hi Jack_daniels,
I appreciate your quick reponse. But unfortunately i changed the username "admin" to some other and forgot that new username.
Will the "hard reset on the unit" solves the issue and cani get the "admin" username back?

Also, can you please suggest me steps for "hard reset on the unit".

    Thanks again for reponding.

I, too, am having a problem with getting my username and password reset. However, what will doing a hard reset do? We ave two computers getting internet access from this router, so what all will need to be done after a hard reset?

There are various ways of resetting your router. If you cannot access the web user interface, a 'reset' button is situated on the back of most devices. Here are instructions to reset your device, to factory settings. Recommended is starting with option 1, then if not successful, try option 2 or 3.

    Reset option 1 "Soft Reset"

This will remove custom settings, but keep existing firmware

In the web user interface, there is an option in TOOL -> SYSTEM, to set the router back to factory default settings.

    Reset option 2 "Hard Reset"

This will remove custom settings, but keep existing firmware

While power is ON, press and hold the 'reset' button on the back of your router for 10 seconds. Use a sharp object eg. a paperclip or a pen. Then release the button and wait until device restarts.

    Reset option 3 "Crash Reset"

This will remove the current firmware. Next time you try to login, a message will show up, asking your for a firmware file/image. These can be downloaded from ftp://ftp.dlink.co.uk

Power OFF the device. Press and hold the 'reset' button, while doing so, power on the device again and keep holding the 'reset' button for another 10 seconds. Then release the button and wait until device restarts.

I have lost my disk and need to program a password, due to nieghbours using my wireless. How do I do this

Hi evan,

Basically you don't need a CD if you want to change the password or put a password on the network all you need to do is to access the Wireless Settings Page of the Router and put or change the Network Key. To access your router you need a working computer connected to the router then open a Browser then type 192.168.0.1. the Username is admin and the password is blank. Go the the Wireless Settings Page and under Wireless Security Mode you can change the Security Mode to either WEP, WPA or WPA2 then input your desired password.

Rate me if this helps so i can help others.

Have a Dlink wireless router, however I am unable to set up a wireless connection. ssid=unknown, additionally all other data other than p/n, s/n ip:192.168.0.1, pass=ADMIN. I have a wireless laptop, hp...

theres a couple of version of this router http://www.dlink.com/products/default.aspx?pid=WBR-1310&tab=3 I'm using the manual from here http://www.dlink.com/products/?tab=3&pid=WBR-1310&rev=WBR-1310
you should be able to loginto the router and setup the wireless - if you are not able to login - you may need to do a factory reset and then login using the default settings and reset up
a useful tool for detecting wireless networks is this http://www.xirrus.com/library/wifitools.php you can use this on the PC to see if the wireless is broadcasting, if you can detect it on the PC

WBR-1310. No admin logon, only f/w upgrade page

Download firmware from site
http://www.dlink.com/products/?tab=1&pid=WBR-1310&rev=WBR-1310

DLink states the login issue has been fixed with firmware v1.04 3/28/07

Remember to get the right one for your unit model. You must connect a RJ45 cable to the router and computer you have downloaded the firmware to and remember which directory it's in. When it asks for the firmware put in the target location (c:\my documents\xxxxx) of the firmware file. Good luck.

Cannot login to wbr-2310 router's config page

Disable firewall on your computer. It seems that it's blocking you from getting in the setup page. you may also try using another computer to login just to isolate your problem

Username

Default for most DLink products is admin - and the password is blank. Other options are admin / admin or admin / public

The WBR1310 has had login problems in the past where it "forgets" its id and password. Pressing the reset button to get it back to defaults will get you in but you can't keep blowing away your configuration. DLink has newer firmware to correct this but others have still had an issue with this unit.

Good Luck!

D-LINK WBR 1310 ROUTER

Go the router setup page, 192.168.0.1, type admin as the user name and password as the password (default, if you have changed these use your login info).
Then on the wireless page change the SSID (router name).
You can also add a security key on this page.

Step 4 Select the type of WPA encryption you would like to use with your wireless adapters from the Security Mode dropdown menu. Note: Your wireless adapters must support the form of WPA encryption you select.

Step 5 In the WPA Personal section, configure the following:

Select the Cipher Type

Enter your Passphrase
Re-Enter your Passphrase

Step 6 Click the Save Settings button to save your settings.

You should also reset the admin password when you are done to something besides the default.

If you have tried the default password and it doesn't work, I think your only alternative will be to reset the router to the factory defaults
