MP3 on off on off on off

I plug the memorex mp3 player into the computer. It turns on and then off, on off, on off... I can't find any solutions online!

My husbands memorex mp3 player just doesn't turn on at all. I plug it into the computer overnight to charge and nothing happens.

Please help!

To clarify the model, our Memorex MP3 players that have the problems posted are both 8GB video/mp3 (MMP9008).

i have the 8gb mp3 player too, and i'm having the same problem.

i had mine for about a week without many problems, other than the fact that it's not made very well. but finally the battery ran completely out and wouldn't even turn back on because it was so dead, and after charging it overnight, it won't turn back on. i've reset it about 100x and locked and unlocked the stupid thing and it will not respond with the computer or unconnected from it.

    i'm pretty pissed off.

Re-format it. plug it in and open my computer and right click on the mp3 player icon. the menu should have a "format" item. When you do this you will lose all the stuff you put in it but it will work. im not sure for how long. i just did it to mine last night.

Reformatting the internal storage worked for me. simply right click and format.

I had the same problem. It turns out I had it locked. On the left hand side the top button. Push it up and see if that helps.

My memorex touch mp3 player won't turn on. It has a fully charged battery and worked fine yesterday- the first day I had it. It doesn't have any lights but the display shows connecting when plugged into...

Hi sluzenski5, I'm not a member, but I do have a solution. Please take the following steps: 1. Get a small piece of lead 2. Make sure mp3 is off hold(lock) 3. Insert lead into reset hole, press so you feel the click. 4. Hold power on switch for 3 secs, maybe 5 5. Enjoy your music! If this works or doesn't, email me at: d-ruffles@hotmail.com Good Luck

Boot error

Problem Solved: My MMP8567 screen read ''boot error shutting down''.
Everytime I plugged it in to the computer the computer would find it but then it would disappear almost immediately.
I downloaded the Updater program from Memorex but it couldn't find the player.
The directions from Memorex said ''Hold down the play button and plug in usb cable.'' 'Another set of Memorex directions said, ''Hold down the power button and plug in usb cable.'' Neither worked for me.
SOLUTION: I finally held down the LOCK/UNLOCK button and plugged in the usb cable. My computer found the player immediately and a software driver window popped up asking for a driver. I let windows search the internet and it found and installed the driver. The driver it was looking for was: ''player recover device class driver'' After windows confirmed it recognized my mp3 player I started up the Firmware update program and was able to update the player.
I tried to be clear and detailed. Good Luck ;-)

Won't turn OFF

If it continues to give u problems, I would return or exchange it. I haven't seen it so I don't know if there's a soft reset button on it.

sounds like your battery has gone kaput. You'll need another one from Memorex, and they're not cheap.
