Question about HP Photosmart C6180 All-In-One InkJet Printer

HP C6180 ''Unable to scan, copy or send a fax''

I have a HP Photosmart C6180 All-in-One and it is displaying on the copier screen the message "Unable to scan, copy or send a fax". The operating system I'm using is Windows XP.

Looking for a trouble shooting manual or any information on this fault message.

    I have the same error. I followed the steps and was able to scan one page, then it happened again. Followed the steps again, but now the error still happens. My printer is on my network, it is not directly connected to my computer, if that makes a difference. Any ideas?

    I tried Sagarjd's advice but I still have the same issue.
    I open the printer and see the motor functions well during the check-up and then suddendly stalls for no reason. There is no obstructive object or anything. I am wondering if there is a bug in the reading check-up or the lamp is bad? (lamp is going through all colors check)...
    Any other idea?

    Would there be a place where I could buy a spare part of the lamp+motor? if this is a hardware problem?

    I have the same problem. After a restart, one or two copies or scans can be made before the same "Unable to scan, copy or send a fax" message appears. We're using XP and running the machine through a wireless connection. This problem started to occur about a month ago. The printer had worked great for two years. Could this be a power supply issue?

    I have the same problem but only when using flatbed to scan/copy/fax. I can still scan/copy/fax using autofeed. Suggested resolutions aren't working for me.

Hi,


Check the following steps:


Connect the printer directly to the wall outlet and


1. Verify that the unit is switched on. Unplug the all-in-one from power and disconnect the connection port.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Plug in the power only.
4. Repeat steps 2-4 two more times.
5. On the third time after plugging the unit into power, reconnect the connection port from the all-in-one to your computer.



1. Unplug the power cable from printer when the printer is powered on.

2. Press and hold # and 6 while plugging in the power cord



Try to check the result.

try ti perform steps as ---->Disconnect the power cable from the back of the printer and then press the power on button for 3- seconds and then at the same time connect the power cable at the back of the printer and then try to turn on the printer and then try to make copy from the printer

AM UNABLE TO SEND ANY FAX SINCE WE GOT THE MACHINE. ALWAYS "NO ANSWER" PRINT-OUT. NO PROBLEMS WITH COPYING AND SCANNING Need steps to send fax.


HP has a huge database available to help with such problems when getting started. It may take some time to find any given item but they are available from the company and in user forums.

SCAN,COPY,FAX PROBLEM


Issue An 0xc18xxxxx or 0xc19xxxxx ink system error code displays on the front panel. The printer cannot copy, receive faxes, or print. Solution
  1. Press the On button to turn the printer off.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Remove all the ink cartridges.
  4. Wait two minutes.
  5. Plug the power cord into the back of the printer.
  6. Press the On button to turn the printer on.
  7. Install the ink cartridges when prompted.
If the error code does not display, the issue is resolved. If the 0xc18xxxxx or 0xc19xxxxx ink system error code displays on the front panel, service the printer.     Here is a manual if you dont already have one.   http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00486336.pdf
