Is there a way to save the experts, such as yourself, to save the long drawn out situation like the HP software issue ?? Thanks again Dennis@midcoast.com

Unfortunately with Fixya's current format there is no way to save experts and inquire via premium services although you can ask me questions directly such as this way you sent me a request with your question.

Clicking noise coming from hard drive

You are so welcome, glad you got the expert help you need.

Many expert's believe it was not the "caps" that caused the failure in the first place. Manufactures that get cheap use lower voltages to save money some may disagree.

Using a higher voltage Capacitor will not hurt the unit as long as the MF rating is the same and as long as the thing fits on the board itself.

What makes these Capacitors give out is power surges, wear, and other issues with the unit. Do not get me wrong here just changing a capacitor sure might help things for a little while or maybe the life of the product who knows? People have changed out "Caps" and had it fail after a few months because of other issues with the Values that change on a power board.

Looks to me like a horizontal inter grated circuit would be the blame on why this is happening.

If it where the fly back transformer you would not have nothing (most cases)

What I suggest is to have a shop look at it for you and give you a estimate if it comes over $90 bucks then its not worth the repair/replacment. These tv's can be bought with digital tuners for $120.00 so I would not lay more then $90 at the most in this unit.

While instaling s/w for hp psc1310 i get .fatal error msi.fx have try to reinstall s/w again and again but still same..had this s/w installed before in same pc with no problem...your help pls...many thank...


Click on the below given link it will help you download the software :

Select your OS;
Select the Full feature Driver;
Click on Download ;
Save to your desktop;
and then run the software;
Then while installation select the "Recommended" option and install it;
Try to scan from "HP Solution Center".. "home"
Also try to print
This should resolve your Issue

I have the HP officejet 5610v all-in-one printer. It prints,scans,fax. It prints but the scanner will not work. It tells me It isn't connected to the computer. I don't know if its because I don't have the...


Go here to HP.com, enter your model number under support. Make sure you have installed and set up the printer correctly. (see here) You may have to uninstall and reinstall, and make sure you wait for the prompt to connect the usb cable.
Search solve a problem and look under scanning., or click here. and read through the solutions that apply or may apply to your situation.

HP c3150 has stopped scanning under mac os 10.5.4


Mac released v10.5.4 on June 30, 2008. The latest Mac driver on the HP site (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=219&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=1146336) was dated January 2008.

If you are using / have used the "Full Feature Software", per the HP guidance issued at http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c00652016&dlc=en&product=1146336, the All-in-One software should be uninstalled prior to installing an update to the operating system in order to prevent potential future issues. [This is included for your information, as if the product is on your system, it may help to remove it.]

It would appear that perhaps HP has not yet caught up with Mac on this one. I would suggest using the "Contact HP" link from the driver page listed in the first paragraph. The online chat is often fairly quick, especially if there is a definite answer (as in "we haven't updated that driver yet"). If there is a workaround, perhaps using a driver from another printer with some particular option(s) chosen, they will have it in their database. However, I believe that is the only manner in which this problem may be definitively resolved.
