How do I install a new belt on the Makita 240 volt planer-jioner model 2030N? I can see where the belt is fitted on the shaft that runs both the joiner and the planer but I have to separate them to slide...

it is a poly-v belt, you have to place V of the belt 1 by 1 slowly turning the pulley, you have no bender or setting, when the belt is in place it is at right tension.

Hi, I have an ...COBRA power Plane & the Belt has broken, do you know where I can buy a NEW BELT. Thanks Nick.

Scroll to the bottom for contact info. Took me 10 minutes to dig out Cobra Wood Planes site and I'm still not sure it will be what you need.
http://www.cobratechservices.com/new-planer-information.html

If this doesn't get you the right place to order a new belt you will have to know the length, width and all other aspects of the belt in order to locate on online. There are many sites that can help but without that data I would have to list a bunch of different ones which might confuse the issue.

'Guest' is looking for help with a Powerbase planer - giving him instructions for Makita and DeWalt is hardly likely to help!

I too have a Powerbase and need to find the manual - anyone?

Where can I get a drive belt for a INCA PLANER/JOINTER

Hello. How about a power twist link belt ? You can make the belt the length you need, and it will also reduce vibration,a lot. I put one on an old Craftsman bandsaw, and it made a great difference.

I need instructions on how to replace a new set of power planer blades for Makita 3 1/4 inch power planer

find your model number and go to "makitause.com" and you can download the operators manual with detailed instructions for this repair. REMEMBER to unplug tool before starting. If you give me the model number I will help but they had 2 different types of holders on the planers so I can't begin to help. Let me know.

I have a Professional woodworker 12 inch planer Model GM-1206 which I need the long belt. Bill

Not know exactly what kind of belt you need, you could always go to a autoparts store and find one there. Or a lawnmower parts store. Don't bother with the big box stores. A better choice would be a segmented drive belt. Like this one: http://www.eagleamerica.com/product/485-4000/table_saw_blades_and_accessories
You don't have to buy at this site, many woodworking stores carry this belt.
Hope that helps.

How do i fix new belt to planer bd713

Older model - managed to heat some water in the microwave and stretched the belt over the drive wheels when a bit more pliable due to thermoplastic nature of drive belt - used thin teaspoon handle as tyre lever and seems to be fitted securely now.
