My windows installer will not allow me to to install or uninstall certain thing and says that windows installer service could not be accessed .... plz help

    Awesome! going to try myself. I have been getting error message "Windows installer service could not be found" anytime I try and run my programs. I think I may have deleted my installer service somehow. Thanks - CARollins Ambrias Company

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  1. Log on to your computer as an administrator.
  2. Click Start, and then click Run.
  3. In the Open box, type cmd, and then click OK.
  4. At the command prompt, typemsiexec.exe /unregister, and then press ENTER.
  5. Type msiexec /regserver, and then press ENTER.
  6. Verify that the SYSTEM account has full control access permissions to the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT hive in the Windows registry. In some cases, you may also have to add Administrator accounts. If the issue is not resolved, proceed and edit the registry.<br /> <p>Instructions:<br /> <p><b>Step 1: Check the service pack</b> <br /> <p>The issue may be resolved by updating the service pack, if the most recent service pack is not already installed. I would suggest uninstalling all drivers for the network adapter then reboot and allow the system to find the NIC again. If this is Windows XP uninstall all drivers for the NIC, reboot, and install the above driver.
If it is Windows 7 uninstall the drive, reboot and allow device manager to locate the driver itself.

If i understand this correctly, you have purchased Spyware Doctor, but can't install it. If this is true, click "start", find "control panel" and click to open. When control panel opens, find "Programs and Features". Right click on that and open. Find Spyware Doctor in the list that comes up and right click on that. Click on uninstall. Click, next, or allow on all windows that pop up. At the end you will see "finish". When done if it doesn't prompt you to restart, then do so. Now go back into progarms and features and make sure anything having Spyware Doctor is gone. If so exit.
When computer restarts, install your insatllation cd for your spyware. You should either see "run" or "allow", or a window will pop up and, at the bottom of the window, You should see "open file with...". Click on that. This will open another window that lists your files for the software. You should see "autorun", maybe with a icon, or, 'autorun.exe". Right click on the auorun file and it shoul start your download immediately or will ask you to allow to run. When downloading, you might have to click next or allow on certain things for download to complete. When it gets to end, click on finish and if not prompted to restart then do so. After restart, you sofware may open or you may have a new icon in your group. If it doesn't open automatically, click on the icon.

The very first step is of course to check your webcam connection. Most webcams use the USB port to connect to the PC, so check if your USB cable is properly plugged. For build-in webcams this steps does of course not apply. Many new laptops have a build-in webcam. Also try connecting your webcam directly to your PC instead of through a USB hub (if you are using one).
The next thing is to do is to check your Windows Device Manager and see if the hardware is recognized and installed properly.
It might be that the hardware is recognized as a camera, but the right drivers are not installed. The yellow explanation mark will indicate a problem.

windows-vista-device-error.jpg In either case you can try to update the drivers. Right-click the device, and in the popup menu select Update Driver Software. Then follow the instructions on screen, but make sure you allow Windows to search the web for updated drivers.
In case no driver for the webcam can be found, you can try a third party driver finding program that scans your PC for installed hardware and allows you to install missing drivers.
If this fails, the next step would be to uninstall the software that came with your webcam. Use the Add or Remove Programs feature in the Control Panel. If that does not work you can use a third party uninstaller.
After uninstalling the software, restart your PC and then reinstall the webcam software. In most cases this will solve the problems. Depending on the software, you might need to unplug your webcam during the software installation.
If the drivers and webcam software are correctly installed, and you still cannot see any video, there can be a problem with the program settings. Most chat and meeting software have a configuration option to select the video source for the webcam feature. If you have multiple devices that qualify for video, you might need to select your webcam device as the source for the webcam feature in that program.
Some webcams and programs require additional software, although that should be installed with the webcam if things are right. But is does not harm to check if your Java, Flash and Quicktime software are installed and up to date. But certainly check your DirectX software, since all video applications, including webcams, use DirectX for video processing. Try downloading the latest DirectX version and install it (Windows XP: DirectX 9.0c - Windows Vista: DirectX 10).
Lastly, if your webcam's image is not sharp, check to see if it has a focus ring. A blurry image can sometimes simply mean the webcam is not in focus. Adjusting the focus through the ring can solve that problem.
Other picture quality problems with webcams can be addressed by changing the video capture properties for the webcam. Most programs that can use a webcam will have an option to access the properties of the video source, which will bring up the video capture properties window.

What else to try: download missing webcam drivers! If you are using your webcam for instant messaging with one of the popular chat programs, have a look at EatCam, which allows you to record your webcam chats from MSN, YM, ICQ, Skype, AIM and a few more!

There are 2 ways of UNINSTALLING WINDOWS VISTA


1) Using MS-DOS PROMPT and for that u need to have good expertise with the MS-DOS so that u can RUN DEBUG COMMAND on the hard drive

2) Method Is Easy .. it is to install WINDOWS XP and after its installation WINDOWS VISTA would be uninstalled

Do you experience this kind of problem whenever you attemp to install an application in windows box (2k, xp)?
"The Windows Installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance."
The ms website knowledge article 324516 gives 2 methods as a way of fixing this problem, but you might be very lucky if any of the 2 fixes the problem, alot of guys end up formating their systems and doing fresh windows installations or try wired ways of fixing it.
Well, the solution is very easy:
1. right click your root windows installation drive i.e drive where you installed windows 2. click properties at the bottom 3. select security tab 4. click Add and scroll down to SYSTEM account click add and click OK. 5. allow Full control permission and click Apply and then Ok.
This should solve your problem with windows installer.

I can not install OfficeSuite. I have Windows Vista home Premium. I had downloaded updates all afternoon and it still shows error 1719 Window installer not correctly installed. Help!

Error Message:
Error 1719. The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. You may be running in safe mode or Windows Installer may not be correctly installed. Translation:
This message might appear when you’re trying to add or remove a program that installs via a Windows Installer MSI (Microsoft Software Installation) package file. The Windows Installer Service is the standard method for installing and uninstalling software on Windows XP. It keeps track of all of the components that need to be installed for a particular program to run and ensures that any files that are shared by programs are not removed when one of those programs is uninstalled. The Error 1719 is an indication that some Windows Installer Service files are missing or have become damaged. Solution:
The first thing to try is re-registering Windows Installer in the Windows registry. Make sure that no other programs are running and then click Start, Run, type msiexec /unregister in the Open field, and click OK. Next, click Start, Run, type misexec /regserver in the Open field, and click OK. Restart your computer and try installing or uninstalling again.

If you’re still getting the error message, the next step is to try reinstalling the Windows Installer files. In order to do this, you’ll first need to rename the existing files.

First, click Start, Run, and type msiexec /unregister in the Open field, and click OK.

In My Computer, click Search and locate the following three files: msi.dll, msiexec.exe, and msihnd.dll. They are hidden files so you’ll need to select Search Hidden Files And Folders under More Advanced Options. When you’ve found the files, rename them, by removing the .dll and .exe extensions and replacing them with an .old extension(for example msi.dll becomes msi.old).

Once you’ve renamed the files, WinXP will automatically replace them with a new copy from the dllcache (a hidden folder where copies of important system files are kept in case you mistakenly delete or rename critical system files). Restart your computer and try to install or uninstall the program again.

Finally, if neither of the above processes corrects the problem, boot into Safe Mode, and go through the above steps again, first re-registering and then reinstalling.

does the program have its own uninstall feature go to start-all programs-find the antivirus program go to it and see if the option to uninstall is in the menu

Before you install Shockwave Player for any Windows browser, uninstall all previous versions.
In order to remove the Shockwave player, simply use the file UNWISE.EXE located in C:\WINDOWS\system32\Adobe\Shockwave 11. Windows users can also use the Add/Remove programs located in the Windows control panel. This will remove the Shockwave 10 player
For the Shockwave 8 and 8.5 there is an uninstaller available from the Web Players page.
Note: All applications must be closed before you run the Shockwave Player uninstaller. Quit all running applications, including all Internet Explorer or other browser windows, and all Instant Messenger clients. Check the Windows system tray carefully to make certain no applications which might possibly use Shockwave Player are still in memory.
After you have removed previous versions, you are ready to download and/or install Shockwave Player.

Before installing Shockwave Player, please check the following browser settings:
Internet Explorer ActiveX settings

Browser security settings should be chosen by you or by your system administrator. For single users who do not have an administrator, the Medium: Default Level allows you to view Shockwave content. For any Custom Level, ensure that both the "Download Signed ActiveX controls" and "Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins" options are set to "Prompt".

To change security level in Internet Explorer:

Administrative privileges are required for the Windows system registry and for the C:\WINDOWS\system32\Adobe\Shockwave folder.
If the ActiveX Control for Shockwave Player fails to install, download the executable installer.
