The blower fan is lose how do you tighten it up . Whirlpool Duet Dryer

Use a 3/4' wrench on the blower wheel and a 7/16 wrench on the front shaft of the motor. The threads on the rear shaft are left hand threads so make sure you turn the shaft in the proper direction.check the wheel for cracks, usually if they are loose they're damaged,

How do you get to the motor of the dryer looks like all one bug piece of metal wrapped around the drum

Disconnect Power. Lift Cover on lint filter. Remove two Phillips screws taking care NOT to allow them to fall into the blower housing. Place putty knife in the seam between the top and front panel about 2” in from either side. Push in on clip while pulling control panel forward and tilting putty knife handle up, all at the same time. Same on opposite side. Raise top all the way.

Looking down inside dryer on left and right see a 5/16” hex head screw about 6 inches down. Remove each side while holding front panel in place. Pull top of front panel about 3 inches forward from sides and then pull up. This will disengage the front panel from lower pressure clips and allow you to turn it sideways and expose the dryer interior. Reverse process to re-assemble. Take careful note of belt configuration BEFORE removing it. Draw a diagram of its travel.

Motor and idler pulley for dyer will be on right. If you decide to change your own motor remember to write down what color wires go to what # terminals before removing any wires from the motor. This style of dryer has a fan blower threaded onto one end of the motor shafts, the fan blower is a left hand thread. See this picture link for how to get the fan blower off of the motor shaft. Angle the motor exactly as you found it. Rotating it may cause it to scrape against the drum.

Reverse Process for reassembly.

Remove blower wheel

Put a good fittting wrench on the blower nut and hit it with an impact wrench(left handed threads righty lucy). OR do it the tried and true redneck way get a friend to hold a pipe wrench on the pulley inside the dryer, around the back slide a small hammer handle or piece of wood in between two blower blades at 3 o'clock position and slam downwards to pop that mutha loose. The threads are left handed(backwards). That blower does not wanna go easy.

No heater blower fan speeds

Let the engine run, turn on heater, and get out and open and close the hood a few times, slamming it. If it starts to blow, you got a bad heater blower motor, with bad brushes. The resistor you are talking about, is about the size of a pack of cigarettes, with 2 screws, and has some white plaster looking stuff on the other side. I would replace that too if you get the blower out, because I do not think it will come out without first removing the blower. Resistor is about $20-25.00. Blowers usually go bad between 120-140k. I change the resistor every other time. The switch goes bad too, and it will only work on every other position. To change that, disconnect the battery, and take out the fuse box, and all the faceplate screws, and that will get you started. The switch from a dealer comes with the led lights and is $40. If you buy aftermarket, you may not get the lights. I have 2 1991 models, one with 360k, and one with over 500k. This has been my experience with the heating system.

Heater blower does not work on 93 Altima on any speed.

It's behind the glove compartment. I had to remove about eight screws to pull of the glove compartment door and glove compartment molded plastic trim. If you are looking for the blower motor resistor. I found it. The blower motor is the roundish part on the far left hand side of the glove compartment opening. Out of the bottom of the blower motor are four wires in a common cable with a connector at the end. Disconnect this common cable connector. It is connected to the blower motor resistor with two screws. It will look like you are removing a connector, but the back side of this part has a what looks like a fin cooler. That part in your hands is the resistor (really) The part number will be on the connector P/N 27150 1E400

Heater motor problem!!!!

Hi my name ia Allen!

This is a tough one, because when something is still working its hard to penpoint the problem.

This can be a lot of things, one a blower motor resister, two blower motor relay could be going bad, three could be a wiring problem.

But here is the most common problem with that year. Under your hood on the left side as you are facing the vehicle, back on the firewall there is a connector that burns up on the blower resister.

Here is what I need you to do, turn the key on with the blower on high so you can here it, you need to wiggle that connector and listen for the blower motor to go of and on. If this happens, you will need a resister and wiring pigtail, because the wiring will have to be replaced and the resister will have to be replace, but we can get to that when we get there.

Let me know what you find, waiting for your reply.
