Filtered water quit working on my Frididaire side by side

I have a Frididaire glhs67eeeq, and there is not water coming out anymore. Any suggestions. We have checked water supply and replaced filter. The water dispenser quit working on my side by side. There is water coming in but not going up to the dispenser. We took the water hose apart at the bottom of the door hinge and had water to that point but it doesn't go up to the dispenser. The motor hums and the light goes on but no water. What can we do?

Although you had waterto the bottom of door when disconnected, did you try to dispense water while unhooked andsee it flow??? because just unhooking it will allow the resivoir of stord water to flow out by gravity, giving false sense of water working., if indeed it did work the you have a frozen water lin within the freezer door itself, ait tricky to defrost. aside form unplugging unit and allow to thaw out, or pulling line form liner not going to be easy to thaw the line. if you indded still hear the "hum" after disconnectng water under door, then it soundsas if you have a bad water inlet valve located behind refrig where the water atteachges to the refric, no repairingthe valve it needs replacing

I have a side by side whirlpool, water was coming out fine then replaced with new filter and a month went by the water started to come out very slowly I thought the filter may be plugged so put anothe

Cut water supply off to frig disconnect water supply line to frig water inlet valve turn water back on to make sure you are getting good water supplied to water inlet valve some times water cut off gets stopped up. If you are getting good water flow to water inlet valve then check to make water valve is opening up all the way. if not then replace valve.

Replaced DA29-00003B water filter in Samsung Refrigerator (RS2530BBP), with DA29-00003G filter. Water comes out extremely slowly....any suggestions? Tried holding ice type button for 3 seconds and...

Recheck you steps and see the warnings:

1) Turn on the main water supply & shut-off valve of the water
supply line.

2) Run water through the dispenser until the water runs clear
(6~7 minutes). This will clean the water supply system and
clear air from the lines.

3) Additional flushing may be required in some households.

4) Open the refrigerator door and check if water leaks around
the water filter.

Remove any residual matter inside the water supply line after installing filter.

NOTE :A newly-installed water filter cartridge may cause water to briefly
spurt from the dispenser.

The hot water comes out but the cold water just trickles.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France, Fri 13;29,

A quick suggestion/check- turn off the cold water feed then remove the cold water pipe from the back of the machine. Inside the piece fitted to the machine you are likely to find a filter. Make sure that is clean and not obstructing the flow. Check at the same time that the water IS coming out of the supply pipe at the right rate before putting it back of course!
If neither the supply nor the filter is the cause the cold water inlet valve in the machine could be at fault.

Hope this helps,

John C

We just installed a Moen Banbury songle handle faucet, and we have very little water pressue. The pressure in the rest of the house is fine, and we cleaned out the aireator filter. Any ideas?

Hi jaryan--
Sometimes when you valve off a water supply, particles of rust or mineral deposits break free and travel along down the pipe when the water comes back on, only to stop when they reach a small opening. In this case, it could be the faucet's supply line.

You already cleaned the aerator, which would have been my first suggestion. The next step is to visually inspect the supply lines for the faucet. Are any of them kinked or twisted? If they look good, the next step is to valve off the water at the shutoff valves closest to the faucet-- they should be on the plumbing under the sink.

Next, disconnect the supply lines to the faucet at the point closest to the faucet. Using a bucket, aim each supply line, one at a time, into the bucket and slowly valve on the water. How is the water pressure? Do any rust particles come out? Flush each line until the water runs clean and strong. Before you reattach the supply lines, use a flashlight to check the hardpiping on the faucet itself and visually check for any obstructions. Remove any suspected blockages manually.

Reconnect the supply lines to your faucet and check its pressure again. If the faucet's pressure is still low, you may have a clog in the faucet's interior mechanism.
--Hope this helps

Water is not being dispensed. PLEASE HELP !!!!

HI. First, you will need to rule out any standard issues that will cause this. Check the internal, and external feed lines for any obstructions. Make sure that the internal lines are not frozen, or kinked. If the lines check out ok, move on to the water filter(if equipped).

In most units, there will be a filter, present. These devices are set to operate on a particular time frame. If their filtering limit is met, the filter will stop filtering water, thus, not allowing the fluid to flow, at all. Make sure that the filter is up to date. If you have verified that the filter is ok, move on to the water inlet valve assembly.

The water inlet valve is located behind your refrigerator. Find the water supply line coming into the valve and turn it off at the source (typically under the sink). Disconnect the supply line. Remove the screws that secure the inlet valve in place.

The water inlet valve is connected by two wires. Label the wire placement on the water inlet valve before disconnecting the wires. The wires are connected to the terminals with slip on connectors

Firmly pull the connectors off of the terminals (do not pull on the wire). You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors and the terminals for corrosion. If the connectors are corroded they should be replaced.

Inspect the filter screen where the supply line connects. Remove any debris or deposits that may have built up using a toothbrush, or warm running water. If you cannot clear the clog, it will be necessary to replace the valve (the filter is not removable on most inlet valves).

Test the water inlet valve for continuity using a multimeter. Set the multimeter to the ohms setting X100 (if available, otherwise use the nearest ohm setting). Place a probe on each terminal. The multimeter should display a reading of 200 to 500 ohms. Close inspection of the inlet valve and especially the coil may reveal the exact ohm resistance rating to test for. If the water inlet valve does not pass this test, it should be replaced.

Water dispenser is flowing super slow, almost a trickle. Takes forever to fill a glass. Kids won't even use it anymore.

HI. This will happen if the filter is near its filtering capacity limit. You will need to replace the filter in this case, asap. This will correct the issue.

Note( If the filter is not the issue, a more uncommon issue will be a faulty water inlet valve assembly)

Filtered water quit working on my Frididaire side by side

Angelbaby, there is a couple things for you to check. Number one is to remove and reinsert the filter. I had one once where it was not exactly seated correctly and caused this problem. If that's not the case check to see that the water reservoir is not frozen. This will be behind the drawers on the refrigerator side. You can take a hair dryer and go lightly over it to melt the ice if it is in fact frozen. Finally in the back by the triple water valve is a diode on the valve harness. If this diode failed you will not get water or ice. Let's hope this is not the case and it's one of the first two senerios, Catriver...post back

Can you remove a line from the back rear of the unit and see if water flows there? The solenoid valve should make a solid "click" when the water lever is pushed. Any debris in the valve filter screen? See if you can reach up or look inside to see if the water lever is actually pushing the door mounted switch in, may be able to press switch with your finger if you can reach it or with a pencil, etc.
