it is plug and play on win xp and above. it should have an IR receiver that you plug in your computers ousb port, then pair the two by pressing a button on the IR receiver and also on the mouse. and thats it
The receiver is plugged into a USB port and doesn't use batteries. The keyboard and mouse use batteries and they need to be replaced ever so ofter. to do so, follow thes instructions.

Are your batteries in the Keyboard and mouse good?
Press the Receiver button (and the lights will start flashing, then if its the
Keyboard isn't working, press the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back
of the board to connect.
If the MOUSE isn't working, do the same except push the small RESET?CONNECT button on the
back of the mouse to connect. Then they should work properly. Hope

Well typically with wireless mice you must press both bottons on both the mouse and the connecter...then after pressing both buttons restart you computer...you computer might not recognize a new piece of hardware right after being turned on. Also make sure there isn't software that needs to be installed there normally is with usb wireless mice. If this does not work please post a comment and I will help you futher. Reinstall your CD software program for your mouse because it was wiped out when you went back to factory settings.

Try disconnecting the Mouse Receiver from the
USB port and reinstall the CD software program. When
the program asks you to connect the MouseReceiver to the USB
port, do so and it should work.
