There are a number of things that could be causing this, however, if you state that the machine comes on but you can't see anything I'd have to say you should check the back of your computer to see if you have 2 VGA ports. If so, use the VGA port that you're not currently trying to hook up to, if not then it seems that either your video card is having issues or your monitor is the source of the problem.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Cant see anything on the screen

See my publised guide entitled:
My Computer is not turning on!!! Is it dead!!! No POST!!!

Yes some-times it can be an easy fix, hopefully it's a loose connection.

Aso make sure that the monitor is pluged into a horrizontal port on the rear of the computer chassis if one is present. In other words connect the monitor to the graphics card if one is installed.

Take care!

The power turns on for the emachine T4892 and the windows sysmbol comes on for a second then screen is blank nothing I cant do anything on the computer its like frozen in time and my programs are in...

Sounds like the boot sequence for Windows is corrupt. If it has been slowing down over time it may be that on recent shut downs it has failed to write the correct start up sequence.

I would suggest trying to get someone to remove your harddrive and back up your files, before reinstalling Windows from scratch.

Cant do anything my computer wont go to the os

Hello,
What you need to do my friend is remove the CMOS battery, then remove the power cord from the computer. Press the power button on the front of the pc, you might at this point see a temporary flash of the power LED (at this point the cmos /bios is now cleared and reloaded with the defaults.
Next, put the battery back in and then the power and boot to the bios. Just reload all settings as needed and you should be back in business!!!

The screen is too dark to read anything though the power comes on. i tried to increase the brightness but did not work NEED HELP!!!

Sounds like your backlight or inverter is on its way out. You can pick one up on ebay.  Google how to check backlight/inverter issues with your model.

Cant see anything but white screen after bootup

Plug in an external monitor and use the F key with the FN to toggle between lcd and external monitor. On my laptops It is the FN and F5. If the external monitor works the problem is the the inverter board, the flex ribbon cable or the LCD. If the external monitor is also messed up then the problem is probably the video card/ motherboard.

Turn power off.
Open case and check the connections to ensure they are all plugged-in. Check that all cards are neatly seated into the MB.
Sometimes the cards and connections can come loose during shipping.
After checking those things, power up and try it again.
If no-go, then press the delete key to enter setup and check what it is seeing for hard drives. Prior powerups may have blown out the drive.
