Sounds like your drive crashed, you could try slaving the drive to a master system and seeing if you could recover the data, you could also send it out for platter recovery. Sounds like you just need a new hd.

sorry

Acer aspire one does not find external DVD drive

Try plugging the external hd in a different usb port. Try plugging the external hd on a different computer. If the drive is not found on either computer after trying the previous two steps, the drive has gone belly up.

Asus VX 2 S keeps on crashing. restarts with black screen and no graphics. after a few hours will start ok and re crash after short time. computer tech tells me the motherboard and/or graphics card is...

You will have to boot up into safe mode with networking first.
This is accomplished by pushing F8 while the computer is booting up.
Once you get into safe mode with networking you will have to download two programs
CCleaner
malewarebytes
these both can be downloaded at www.filehippo.com
Run malware bytes first make sure it updated remove anything that it finds
Then clean internet history with ccleaner
then boot computer up regular and run ccleaner clear internet history and reg cleaner
then run malware bytes on more time,
good luck

I have acer laptop, i tried to uninstall Norton 360 2010 last night, mu computer crashed and i can't get any further on than the password stage without my computer crashing.

You can boot into Safe Mode then restore from a save point prior to the Norton uninstall.
That's as far as I've got - even using the Norton Removal Tool gives me the same issue, so still haven't been able to get rid of Norton And have a stable laptop.

Computer crashed and says "Missing NTLDR." I have

Hello, before you do anything drastic, my computer crashed and on reboot said the same thing. After panicking (and a cup of tea), I found the bios had defaulted to booting from the wrong disk. All was ok after I set the bios back to boot from the correct disk again.
Hope this helps!
best wishes,

My acer aspire crashed during Erecovery, now everytime it reboots, i get an error message, telling me it has to restart everytime, ive tryed using a boot disk but still refusing to work

Did you tried to change the boot sequence first? seems to me a driver and hardware communication problem. Check your cd drive if some disc was been left.

When i start my laptop with any mode, instead to enter my user.

hi

it seems that some of the booting file of the computer has gone wrong,

try to chage the boot device of the computer by going into bios.try to chage the boot device from harddisk to cd rom .after that put the operating system cd into the computer and try to boot the computer from cd.
once you do that it will give you an option to repair the computer ,select the option and try to repair the system ,once u do this the old booting file will get replaced with the new one,and donot worrie is this process you wont loose data

Computer comes on, shows a blue screen, and restarts on it's own.

Try to boot into Safe Mode.

If you're able to, let me know and we'll go from there.

My computer has a virus I can't remove

Try and boot into windows safe mode by pressing the F8 key before windows loads and then try running the browser and check if it crashes. Perform the same process by scanning with an anti virus and see what happens. You might have two problems, either the RAM the actual memory is bust or something in the OS has gone really wrong and got the OS unstable. Try the safe mode test to confirm.
