If your starter stays engaged after the vehicle starts with the remote starter then, the vehicle's starter wire is receiving 12 volts, most likely from the remote starter's ignition or accessory wires. Check the connections to the vehicle's wiring: the battery wire is constant 12 volts, regardless of key position. The accessory wire(s) is 12 volts with the key at accessory and on/run (position 1 & 2), the ignition wire(s) is 12 volts with the key at on/run and start (position 2&3), and the starter wire(s) is 12 volts with the key in the start position (position 3) ONLY. Make sure that the remote starter wires are connected to vehicle's wires as directed by the Bulldog instructions.
What type of car is it installed in? The problem is most likely either that there is a factory anti-theft that you have not disabled, or there is a second or third ignition wire that is not connected. If you can give me the year-make and model I can give you a specific wire connection.
The start/stop 3x thing could be one of a few main issues. You need a bypass module or it needs to be reset. You need to program the tach if you're using it. Make sure with the new models(5101, 5301) it's programmed for auto transmission. The come default for manual transmissions.
from http://www.crimestopper.com/techweb/InstructionBooks/RemoteStart/rs1300dp_1304dp_a_ops.pdf Note: All transmitter codes must be learned at time of programming!! The unit will learns up to 4 different transmitter codes. 1. Open Hood (If no hood pin installed with your system, then you must ground the Gray Hood pin wire). 2. Turn key to the ON position. (Pink wire must be connected.) 3. Press Programming button 4 times, then after a few seconds the unit flashes the parking lights 4 times. 4. Press button #1 of the transmitter to be coded. You should get 2 light flashes indicating the unit is waiting for a 2nd code, then press button #1 of a second transmitter, the unit will flash 3 times indicating its waiting for the 3rd code and so on. If all 4 codes are learned, the unit will automatically exit code learning mode, otherwise turn key off and close hood. See diagram below.
