Harmony remote not working. can only view dvd through comp 1, comp 2 isn't working, giving error of "mode not supported" i can HEAR the cable just cannot view it. I've tried a different set of comp video cables, the cables do not appear to be the problem. the remote isn't communicating with my tv at all. I've unplugged the rf thing and hit reconnect, and ive taken the battery out as well. still not working.

Hi,

I beg to differ, I doubt if the remote is responsible for the video not showing on comp2 and the error message "mode not supported". For a clearer picture of the wiring and cabling, pls postback the brand and model numbers of all the devices hooked up together, TV, DVD, cable receiver box, and all others.

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

Hello,

Maybe the comp2 is cannot support video output. try to adjust the resolution to lower from source then try. Remote maybe got grounded so you need to disassemble the unit and then clean fix it again.

Remote control

Harmony makes a really good universal remote that plugs into your computer. You enter the make/model # of your equipment and all (or most) of the equipments features are available on the remote. I use 1 remote for 7 components and it has an activity button that when pressed will turn on all components associated with that activity IE "Watch DVD" will turn on DVD player, T.V. and set it to proper channel or input and turn on the stereo and set it to the proper output.

Just in case, here's the 108-page user's manual for your TV:
http://www.hdtvsolutions.com/pdf/MIT_WD-52525_WD-62525_WD-52725_WD-62725_Manual.pdf

Yor "NetCommand" TV remote is a wondrous thing, capable of throwing off anyone.

When the 'Device Selection Menu" is dispayed, and only when the device icon is highlighted,
does the key work, and it also only works when the remote is in "A/V Receiver" mode -
not in "CABLE or DBS" mode, nor "VCR" mode, nor "DVD" mode.
So, (1) set the NetCommand remote to "A/V Receiver" mode
(2) bring up the Device Selection Menu, using the key on the remote
(3) highlight the Satellite receiver input icon (highlighted with a Yellow outline)
(4) press GUIDE on the remote, to swap the analog digital setting.

Also displays ChannelView for Antenna 1 and Antenna 2 - you may have accidentally
set the TV to get its input from the wrong Antenna.

If your TV has lost memory of its DBS source, you may have to re-teach the TV (using the remote)
that the DBS (Digital Broadcast Satellite) input exists, and to which input its connected.
Refer to "Edit NetCommand, Add an A/V Receiver", pages 39-45 of your Owner's Manual.

Cable connector broke off of the television.

You can by an RFmodulator and a set of composite cables to get the cable signal into the tv provided you have audio and video inputs. You will then need to tune tv to the proper input to view.
Hope this helps you.

Can't exit demonstration mode

I just finished advising someone else with a similar problem.

Forget the remote you have, goto your local Electrical or Hi-Fi store and get a Logitech Harmony remote. I have never come accross anything it cannot control. You set it up over the internet through your PC connected to the remote with a USB cable.

They are not dear anymore either.
Logitechs site is HERE bit they also have other remotes out in stores not listed on the site.
I own one, and will never buy anything else again.

To play a dvd I must push input on the remote- must I reset each time to go back to the tvchannels?

Yes, because it sounds like your DVD player is connected to a different video input on your TV.

If you want to simplify your setup, I recommend getting a Harmony remote from Logitech. You go through a simple series of setup and then the remote will send the appropriate commands to all your devices to set everything in the right modes with just a single button-press. I don't work for Logitech, I just think it's a good product.

Scenium DLP quit recognizing cable signal

You may have inadvertently pressed some buttons on the remote to take it out of the mode to receive cable channels.
If you unplug the tv from the wall for a while, it may clear the error.

Step 1: Identifying Your TV’s Location
1. If your country is highlighted, press OK on the remote control.
If your country isn’t highlighted, press the up or down arrow button on the
remote control to highlight your country and press OK.
2. Use the number buttons and/or the arrows on your remote to enter your
zip code or postal code. Press OK when you’re fi nished.
Note: If your postal code contains letters, press the up and down arrow
buttons on your remote to enter letters, and press the right arrow button
to go to the next space. The left arrow button also moves the highlight to
the left.
Step 2: Confi guring for Cable
The next series of screens asks you about your cable setup. To supply your TV
with the correct TV program listings, the TV Guide On Screen system needs to
know if your TV is connected to cable.
Note: If you’re using a cable box, always leave it on so you can receive
program information.
1. If your TV is connected to cable, highlight Yes and press OK.
If your TV isn’t connected to cable, highlight No and press OK. (STEP 3:
Confi guring for Antenna
appears–go to page 24).
2. If you have a cable box connected to this TV, highlight Yes and press OK.
Note: The next series of screens is very important because the TV Guide
On Screen system must fi nd the correct cable box information in order
to receive the correct TV program listings.
If you don’t have a cable box connected to this TV, highlight No and
press OK (STEP 3: Confi guring for Antenna appears–go to page 24).
3. Highlight the input where you connected your cable box to the TV, and
press OK.
If you select Cable Input, continue to step 4.
If you select any other option, go to step 5 on the next page.
Important Note: Your cable box can’t be connected to ANTENNA
INPUT if it is to be controlled by the TV Guide On Screen system.

try using the guidelines above.

Aspect Function Not Working

Normallly, if the picture size button on the remote for the television does not achieve the desired affect, then, a cable box or a satelite box is where the change needs to be made. For example: A Motorola Cable box needs to be set up to go to a wide screen or zoom when an analog signal is detected. Some Dish Network boxes have Size buttons on their remotes and also in their main menu. It's difficult to determine the repair without knowing the types of the peripherals. Hope this helps.
