Question about Televison & Video
When we turn the tv on, there is a faint picture with a green screen that only lasts about 2-3 seconds before going completely black. We opened up the back of the television and noticed that the white strip on the blue CRT is gray, instead of white. Does this mean that the blue CRT needs to be replaced? Do you know where we may find a used part and maybe some replacement instructions? We have been quoted at least 500.00 to fix the television and we really need to come up with a more cost effective solution. Thank you for your time. (Also, the audio works just fine).

As per what you have stated and explained the problem its the CRT in your tv.
the cost of the CRT should not exceed more then $400.you can contact your local tv reparing center for this part as getting it online can be risky if the part is damaged or not matching the orignal part.again replacing the part is a long procedure.and your local tv mechanic will also do a fitting job for that CRT with his service charge in that but provide you a garanttee for further problem.
