You connect the MP3 player to your PC using the U.S.B. port to your computer. It will show up on your pc as a new Drive like "E:" then you pick the songs you want from your PC and copy and paste them to the new MP3 player (the new detected drive). One suggestion don't cut and paste from your PC. Because you will be removing the song from your PC then and if you lose the MP3 player. ..bye bye to all your favourite songs.
What you should do is check your PC Control Settings and then under devices, try restarting the PC and make sure that nothing is in the cable outlet, make sure that you go under "My Computer" once you restarted the computer.
IF YOU HAVE A DRIVER THAT YOU GOT WITH THE MP3 PLAYER THEN INSTALL THAT FIRST ON A COMPUTER.IF YOU DIDN'T GET ONE THEN YOU MIGHT NOT NEED IT.
YOU MUST HAVE A USB/DATA CABLE FOR SONGS TO BE TRANSFERED.
OK NOW CONNECT YOUR MP3 PLAYER TO THE COMPUTER WITH THE CABLE,COMPUTER WILL AUTOMATICALLY DETECT IT.
GO TO MY COMPUTER AND CHECK YOUR DEVICE LISTED AND RIGHT CLICK---OPEN
CHECK IF YOU HAVE ANY SONGS ALREADY LISTED IN THE DEVICE FOLDER OR IT MIGHT TAKE YOU DIRECTLY TO THE SONGS LIST.THIS IS WHERE YOU NEED TO PUT YOUR SONGS.
SIMPLY COPY THE SONGS FROM THE PC AND PASTE IT INTO THE MP3 FOLDER OR YOU CAN OPEN TWO WINDOWS AT A TIME AND USE THE DRAG AND DROP OPTION.
I HOPE IT HELPED.
Warning - this will work, but it will erase all your songs, so that they will have to be reloaded: Triple Reset for Philips’ GoGear: Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off.Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab.Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions. After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again. -Tha Mp3 Doctor
Ummmmm.... What are you doing exactly if your trying to download the music, Download using limewire, bearshare,
Its not going to work on Itunes most of the time so just use Limewire or bearshare. Connect the Mp3 using the Usb thing and try to put it in front of the cpu or behind either 1 of them.
After you should probably get a pop up scroll down and go to view folders or whatever and open it and put the music you want in the mp3 and when yur done beside the clock look for a Safetly USB remover or whatever and disconnect it.
I hope it works
