Question about Black & Decker Leaf Hog 12-AMP Electric Blower/Vacuum #BV4000

Open Question

How do i take off the suction part and connect the blower?

Am I supposed to take off the suction part? My husband thinks that we might be missing something. The motor part with the suction part says Leaf Hog and the tube for the suctioning says the same. So I would guess that they go together.

If there is no fee for answering my question, then please do.
Do NOT answer if you plan on charging me for the assistance.
Thank you so much.

SOURCE: The leaf hog BV4000

Put the switch in the center off position. That allows you to press the big black button in the front and take the vacuum attachment off. Replace the vacuum with the blower attachment and you should them be able to blow rather than vacuum.

Try Platt Electrical supply - 800-257-5288 ( BLACK & DECKER #89754-01 REPLACEMENT BRUSH. It seems the entire motor head was manufactured by DeWalt and is now obsolete. I don't know if these brushes will fit, but someone there may help.

Hoover has poor suction

Do you have a clog in the hose or where the hose meets the internal parts of the Hoover? Also, have you bothered to change the bag. My husband doesn't think of changing bags or filters. Hoover is a good product.

Still drying...just making high pitch sounds husband seems to think possible belt problem. We purchased in May 2002 is it worth fixing and is it a DIY

I would think you have something inside or area you blower wheel, even a bad roller can cause noise of this nature. I would repair the unit as the parts a normally minimal. I would need a model number to direct you further though, even manufacture use different parts and I don't wish to miss lead you.

Good Luck

We just bought a 1989 geo tracker. It had a oil leak someone has started to fix. However we're not sure all the parts are under the hood. My husband thinks something is missing. How can i find out what it...

I might look on or and search for one that someone is trying to sell. Tell them you're interested in seeing what condition the engine bay is in. Ask for some pictures.

Air conditioner is not working and freeon has been added what could be the problem and where. My husband thinks there may be a leak.

If you have access to the proper gauges check the low and high pressure. If the suction pressure is too low the low pressure switch will not engage the compressor.

Kirby Suction and Blower Connector

Yes you can. The end of the hose that mates with the suction/blower is flexible. You can use a pair of needle nose pliers to compress the hose end and force it out of the suction/blower connector.

The fuel lines on my ryobi stinger scorpion brushcutter have deteriorated, I;ve fitted new lines but I think I;ve connected them incorrectly, it won't run.

Fuel filter to bottom of carb. The suction port of primer to the top of carb outlet line to other port to tank.
To tell which port is outlet put your finger on one port and push bulb if the bulb collapses and doesn't return then that is the inlet (suction) side.

PS. I would buy some carb cleaner and gently spray in the inlets of the carbs (sometimes pieces of the fuel lines get in there).
Good luck!

How do I attach the upholstery attachment to the Hoover Steam Vac F5910-900?

I assume you have a Hoover there. The hose only goes into the top of the tank. The opening of the hose is supposed to connect with the tank lid to deliver suction to the hose. I'm assuming that you think the hose is supposed to connect to the duct on the hood. The hose does not go down that far. I hope this is what you need to know. I am assuming alot here.
