Hold the SRC button until the stereo turns off. Hold in on the function button (or volume knob) until the setup menu turns on... once it comes up, you can scroll thru selections with the volume knob and turn them on and off by clicking in on the knob. AUX2 will be one of those settings.

I found this page while searching for a problem I just fixed thought this would help anyone else with the same problem. On car stereo's with a removable faceplate, remove it and hold the reset button for about 5 sec. or until you hear a beep to get aux mode back.

JBL MR-17.2 not recognizing Sirius satellite receiver.

I have the exact same issue. I have swapped with two identical MR17.2 radios and swapped out the sirius receiver. No change. I even bought a remote thinking I had to have a remote installed to get it to work...still no diff. Have you ever found a solution?

Tone in sirius radio using aux. input

Do you have a thicker audio cable you can use? It might cut down on the interference that way.

How to hook up the sirius stratus 5 radio in my 2008 rav4?

I have sirius installed in my 2008 RAV4 JBL system.
There is an adapter made by VAIS technologies http://www.vaistech.com/ that is called a soundlink. It comes with instructions for the connection. The Sirius radio is hidden in this installation, and is controlled by your JBL system. The antenna runs up the side of the windshield (hidden behind the plastic moulding) and mounts to the top right corner of the roof.

HOWEVER- you will not have the full funcionality of the Stratus 5 radio- which has more funtionality that the JBL system can control. Also, the Scrolling feature on the Stratus 5 screen does not work on the JBL display. . . you get the first 15 or so characters, with no scrolling.

I love having an integrated satelite radio in my car, but I do miss the better screen, and the pause feature I had on my sportster (in my old car). Good Luck.

Sirius radio connects via a special dock. Sorry, but you're screwed with your XM unit...

Only on/off chimes come through radio

The input source is controlled by contacts in the actual input on the side of the radio. It sounds like the contact for an aux connection is stuck closed. The contacts need to be separated, and probably the only way to do this is to disassemble the radio. If it is under warranty (less than a year old), I would suggest calling SIRIUS warranty for a replacement. If not, and you don't feel comfortable taking the unit apart, find someone who is because the unit is most likely salvageable!

Sirius Problem

The sirius unit does not have any channels in the unit.
You need to refresh the radio (XM allows you to do it online, I dont know about sirius) and leave it powered on for about an hour for it to update the channel list.
