Uninstalling .Net 2.0

Hello again etuckram

I have looked into removing this program but the windows/uninstaller says it cannot be removed. Not having much experience with this type of software, can you remove 2.0 despite having 1.0 and 1.1 installed? I realize that certain software will not work, not a problem. And despite the list of .net software I have installed (see image) I tried to install a small programm and it said .net 2.0 was not there? So any advice on how and what to remove would be appreciated.

Thanks
James

I suggest you to verify if you have administrator rights on your computer (Control Panel > User accounts and check if your name says Administrator)
You could try to reinstall the .NET framework 2.0 by going to microsoft website (on serch, look for .NET framework download and it will take you there), and see what happens.
If it is still not working, you should contact Microsoft because this would be an issue with Windows itself.

How to uninstal the printer driver .My p rinter is not comunicating with the computer and I was told to uninstal and then instal the driver and I have no idea how to do that .I dont have the driver either.

for you to uninstall the printer driver.

if you're using windows xp

click on start, click on control panel, open add or remove programs, then look for your dell printer. then select remove. after uninstalling the printer remove the usb cable then restart the computer.

if you're using windows vista

click on start, on start search type programs and features, then press enter. then look for your dell printer, click no it, then click uninstall.
after uninstalling the printer driver remove the usb cable then restart the computer.

for you to have the driver for the printer you can go to support.dell.com
enter the service tag of your printer, then select the windows your computer is using, if it's xp or vista.
then download the driver. NOTE save it first. then after downloading the printer driver, run the file that you download.
follow the onscreen instructions. connect the usb cable when you're asked to connect it. and you're good to go.

have a great day :)

My computer stopped recognizing my hp psc1350 and it won't print

If this is not hardware problem then most probably the driver is corrupt.
First uninstall the printer completely using the procedure below (taken from HP website).

Uninstalling the software
Use the following steps to uninstall the software:

1.Disconnect the USB or parallel cable from the all-in-one.
2.Click Start , click Programs (click All Programs in Windows XP), click HP , select the all-in-one product folder, and then click Uninstall . Follow the directions that appear.
The basic device drivers have been removed after completing this step. If you were having problems with connectivity or the basic print or scan drivers, you may reconnect the all-in-one at this point to reinstall it. If the problem is not corrected or if you had other problems, continue to the next step.
3.Open the Windows Control Panel by following these steps:
* Windows 98, Me and 2000: Click Start , click Settings , and then click Control Panel .
* Windows XP: Click Start and then click Control Panel .
4.Click Add/Remove software (click Add or Remove Software in Windows XP).
5.In the list of installed programs, locate and select HP Photo and Imaging 3.0 or HP Image Zone , and then click Remove . Restart the computer after uninstalling if prompted.
6.In the list of installed programs, locate and select HP Software Update , and then click Remove .
7.In the list of installed programs, locate and select Memories Disk Creator 2.0 , and then click Remove .

Reinstall using updated drivers from the link (for XP)
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software4/COL8901/mp-23606-2/gc_w01_ENU.exe

If windows vista then it will install the drivers automatically on connecting the printer

HP colour laserjet 1600 not recognised by USB port

I believe the problem is related to microsoft .NET Framework. I have researched and there are many posts of incompatibility between .NET Framework and many printers not just 1600. My 1600 stopped working and I traced the problem to upgrade to .NET Framework 3.5 I uninstalled 1600, then uninstalled .NET Framework 3.5 (and 3.0 as well for good measure), reinstalled 1600 and it is working fine now again. You can uninstall .NET versions using Add/Remove programs on the Control Panel. To avoid re-updating, I also turned off Windows automatic updates. I left .NET Framework 2.0. No problems with other programs but the computer did have trouble rebooting the very first time after I uninstalled .NET Framework 3.5 and 3.0. Unknown if that was related to the uninstall or a completely unrelated problem. Anyway if you want to try something less drastic than removing .NET versions, check out this Microsoft link:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/961118
refers to a printer fix related to .NET. In my experience, the Microsoft fixes never work but you are welcome to try before uninstalling .NET Framework versions.

Getting Kodak AiO home centre software to work

Hi James, Thank you for considering me as an option to your answer. I love Kodak and their products but as we all know, manufacturers have defect on their own but it can be fixed. Going back to your issue, you can uninstall the .net 2.0 for it is not a windows xp requirement, you can also download it for free from microsoft. The only thing is, if you have a program that uses 2.0 it may not work for the meantime once it is uninstalled. Let me know if you have some concern. Willing to help you to the best of my ability.

Sorry to hear about your trouble. Since I am not sure of the details, let me offer a long review and suggestion. It may work for you, especially if the AiO software is not installing correctly.

If the KODAK AiO Home Center software fails to start or an error message appears, there may be a problem with the Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 installation. To resolve this condition:

1. Open the Control Panel.
2. Double-click Add / Remove Programs (for Windows XP) or Programs and Features (for Windows Vista).
3. Select Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.

IMPORTANT: If other versions of Microsoft .NET Framework are listed, do not perform this operation on those other versions. Follow this procedure ONLY for Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0.

4. Click Change / Remove (for Windows XP) or Uninstall (for Windows Vista).

5. Select Repair, and click Next.
NOTE: A progress bar shows the repair progress.

6. After the repair is complete, make sure the Restart the computer check box is selected, and click Finish.

7. After the computer restarts, start the KODAK AiO Home Center software.

IMPORTANT: If the KODAK AiO Home Center software fails to start or continues to display an error message, completely uninstall Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 and do a clean reinstall KODAK AiO Home Center software. The Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 will also be reinstalled with the KODAK AiO Home Center software.

1. Follow steps 1 - 4 above.

2. Select Uninstall, and click Next.
IMPORTANT: Uninstall ONLY Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0. If other versions of Microsoft .NET Framework are listed, do not uninstall them.

3. Restart the computer.

4. Perform a clean re-installation of the KODAK AiO Home Center software:

a. Disconnect all USB devices from the computer, including the Kodak EasyShare all-in-one printer.
NOTE: Do not disconnect your mouse or keyboard.
b. Uninstall the Kodak EasyShare 5000 series all-in-one software:

1. In the Control Panel, select Add or Remove Programs (Windows XP) or Program and Features (Windows Vista).
2. Select one of the following software programs from the list of currently installed programs, depending on which one appears in your list:

Kodak EasyShare software
Kodak all-in-one printer software
Kodak EasyShare 5000 series all-in-one software

3. Click Change or Remove (Windows XP) or Uninstall (Windows Vista).
4. When the Install Wizard appears, click Next.
5. Depending on the issue(s) you are experiencing, do the following:

- If you are experiencing errors with the Kodak EasyShare software, such as a Tricode, in addition to errors with the KODAK AiO Home Center software, select Remove, click Next, and follow the on-screen instructions for removing the software.
- If you are not experiencing errors with Kodak EasyShare software, select Modify to uninstall only KODAK AiO Home Center software, and click Next.

6 In the Custom Setup window, select Remove from the drop-down menu for the Kodak All-in-One Printer, and click Next.
vii. In the Ready to remove the program window, click Next.
viii. In the Uninstall Complete window, click Continue.
ix. Restart the computer.

c. Delete the files and folders that can interfere with the installation.

For Windows XP, delete:
i. Printer folder in C:\Program Files\Kodak
ii. Both the Eastman Kodak Company and KDS_Kodak folders in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data

iii. Click the Disk Cleanup button.

i. Select Start > Run.
ii. Type msconfig in the Open field, and click OK.
iii. Select the Startup tab.

IMPORTANT: If not all the applications in the Startup Items list are selected, write down which applications are selected so you know which ones to turn on again later.

iv. Click Disable All , then click OK .
v. When prompted, restart the computer.

f. After the computer restarts, insert the KODAK EASYSHARE 5000 Series All-in-One Software CD into the computer CD drive to begin the installation.

g. During the installation process, when prompted, select to search for an updated version of the software on the Kodak Web site and install the updated version.

h. Before restarting the computer again, turn on the background applications.

i. Select Start > Run.
ii. Type msconfig in the Open field and click OK.
iii. Select the Startup tab.
iv. Under Startup Items:

- If only some items were originally selected, select the check box in front of the items that you noted in Step e-iii.
- If all background items were originally selected, click Enable All, and click OK.

i. Restart the computer.

Can't print from the 'print' button on screen, will copy and scan from printer, will run test from computer

try uninstalling the update as long as it is not one necessary to new programs. Find the uninstall for it by doind a search in the run menu, and the uninstall file should come up. Follow prompts. Now try printing again. If this fails, you may have to uninstall printer drivers ie go to remove programs, unilnstall printer and all related files. Now reinstall using your original printer canon disk for your operating system. Try printing again.
