SOURCE: I received a kenwood kdc-mp345u

Any time you upgrade your radio to an aftermarket you have to have the wire harness with it to connect to your dash.

The radio is displaying CANCHECK and will not turn on to the radio or cd.

Errormessage of "CANCHECK".
As well as having a conventional RadioSecurity Code number, this stereo is also electronically paired, or"Married" to the engine management system of the vehicle it came outof using very sophisticated CAN-BUS system technology. When itis first powered up, it will communicate with the vehicle, and a message of"WAIT" will appear on the display whilst this process is inoperation. If communication has been successfull, it will prompt for the Codenumber to be entered in the normal way. However,if removed and refitted into a different vehicle other than the original one,it will not recognise the encrypted CANBUS identification of the new car, andwill instead display an error message of "CANCHECK". ThisRadio cannot therefore be transferred from one car to another, unless it hasfirst been reset back into its original "Delivery Mode" with theCAN-BUS data memory reprogrammed for use with the new vehicle.
The only solutions are offered by your Main Dealer or by using the services of a Radio Decoding Specialist.

Intermittent problem no sound

Double and triple check your connections. I soldered my connections on a speaker a little while ago and I found out that it only looked soldered and it was alittle loose and would cut out. Also you could check a site out, installdr.com. You should be able to find out the wire colors for you speakers there. Although I don't think that, that will cause a big problem. If you are listening to music at loud volumes, I would also recomend an aftermarket amplifier. It adds so much more that a factory amp can. Just food for thought. Good luck.

Error 99

The E-99 code refers to a "Disc Mechanism Error" for all Kenwood systems. This essentially means that either the magazine is messed up (if you're using a multi-disk system) or the CD loader on a head unit is malfunctioning.

Per Kenwood's factor manual:
Something is wrong with the disc magazine. Or the
unit is malfunctioning for some reason.E99
➪ Check the disc magazine. And then press the reset
button on the unit. If the "E-99" code does not
disappear, consult your nearest service center.
