  1. Pull the faceplate (bottom) straight out from the wall.
  2. Loosen the screws at the end of the wires, like the one in the middle at the tip of my middle finger.
  3. Remove the 2 screws which hold the rest in.
  4. Make a note of which wires were attached to what. I suggest taking pictures.

I suppose it would be prudent to say that you should disconnect the power first, and remember that you may have to re-light the pilot on your furnace, if applicable. Please don't electrocute yourself, or blow the house up.

Check for screws on this stat. If no screws than you need to exert force to remove the cover. Will you damage it? Who cares! You are replacing it. Just be sure you remember the color code. R to red, W to white and etc.

Honeywell programable stats are availible from Home Depot for under $50.

Hope this helps you Dave....

I have a carrier heat pump model # 38RQ034300 I need instructions for. To maintenance and use thermostst correctly

That is model number for your outdoor unit. Thermostats are not dedicated to any particular model outdoor unit. You need instructions for the thermostat so the thermostat make and model number are needed.

My heater won't turn on. It is the first time we tried to use it since I installed the thermostat a few months ago. My husband turned the mode to heat and the fan to on. However, only cold air is coming...

you need to bypass the thermostat wire it jumper wires. in other words jump the wires till the furnace comes on. there are 18 volts at the thermostst. listen for it to click. and set fan to [auto] always

How do i hookup a thermostat to a dayton unvented radiant heater modle be132c

Hi, If you are hooking up a programmable stat, the connections on it would be RC, RH, with a jumper connected to both, Y, W, and G. If you only had 2 wires before, red to RH and white to W. For cooling,Red to RC, and W to Y. Do not remove the jumper.

Have dayton model 2e215 mercury thermostat and trying to replace with programmable. How do I get the old one off of the wall. It looks like the mercury vial sits on a cover over the wires but I cant see...

There are either 2 or 3 small screws which hold the thermostat to the wall plate.
Remove these and the thermostat will come off to reveal the wall plate with the wiring connections.

Wiring diagram for a Dayton thermostat

Contact Dayton on the internet for this problem. The diagram should be available on their site. Or they will give you a number for customer care. They can give you step-by-step instructions. I am a technician and this is what I would do as their are millions of wiring diagrams. Many are noy up to date.
