My logitech usb headset A-0374A played 2 or 3 times. Most often it is not recognized by Windows when I plug it to the USB drive.

    logitech itself sucks

Same thing.  I thought my cat had chewed thru the wire or something, but its intermittent, and if you reboot it works for a few.  Also it took over my speakers and I have not reinstalled them.   I have Vista HOme basic addition, and was trying to look up drivers as my laptop states it can not find it or there is a malfunction with the drivers.

If ure running on Vista than ure going to have to go into control panel and shut down all other sound devices, speakers, everything through device manager. Afterwords restart your computer so the changes can take effect. your headset should be working

Probably need to set the Logitech headset as your default device in Control Panel-Sound. XP or Vista updates may reset the audio-video default devices

SOURCE: my logitech usb headset A-0374A played 2 or 3

Hi,
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for your headset?
Also check in your device manager to make sure all USB ports are okay (with no yellow dots next to the listed port)
Let me know if this helps or not.

Start - Control panel - Sounds and Audio devices - Click on the "Volume" tab. Check that the device volume is included in your volume control (Advvanced - Options - Properties)

Also check your speaker Volume and Settings.

ClearChat Pro USB headset asks for driver upon install

  1. (Vista) Confirm your system restore point first. It needs to be prior to what you're going to attempt here. If it has a recent restore point, great, but if not, make a system restore before you do this, in case it doesn't work.
  2. In the Control Panel, click System, Advanced System Settings, click System Protection, and click System Restore.
  3. (Optional) Try updating your usb drivers before trying the final step, reinstalling the Vista Service Pack 2.
  4. Here's how to verify if your USB (drivers) in the Device Manager are up to date.
  5. Open the Control Panel, System, Device Manager.
  6. Open the Universal Serial Bus controllers (usually at the bottom of the device list).
  7. Right-click, on your first USB, Updating Driver Software. It will look for the update or let you know (which may take a bit of time) that it is up to date already. Repeat this process on all the USB devices.
  8. If that doesn't work, try this: plug in your headset, and keep it plugged into the usb.
  9. In your Windows Updates, re-install the Service Pack 2. After Vista reboots your computer and finishes the install, unplug your headset from the USB and then replug it in. What you are likely to see is a Windows message indicating that it sees the software and is installing it (minus the windows pop-up message of "where's the driver disc for it?").
  10. Now the trick is to get the headset to play the microphone through the speakers appropriately!

USB Device Not Recognized...

Hi,
The main reason for getting this message is that the USB chip or part of the connection to the chip has failed. The best way to test to see if the product is defective is to try it on another computer.
This will tell you if the product or the computer port has failed.
